Traveling Turkeys Part 2 11/22/08

Ken,
thanks for your post. It brought back memories of the days when you had like 3 days to purchase your photopass stuff and you had to purchase them at the park they were taken at. I remember when my mom left the MK and forgot to get the one she wanted so the next day my husband had to go from work to MK to get the photo and send it to her.

Not sure why but your post made me think of it and chuckle. Well off to go get some work done.

A big welcome to all the new arrivals! Looks like we are going to have a great group onboard!party: :welcome: party:

Happy Birthday Kiah! I wish someone would give me a cruise for my birthday!:bday:

Kiah!

My DS(12) is interested in finding a cruise buddy before our 11/22 cruise. This will be our 11th cruise and he is very familiar with the ship. He enjoys sports.

PM me if you have DS or DD who may be interested.
I PM'd you.

There will be 11 of us:
Our family, sister's family and friends.

Cannot wait to be sailing again!!!

Hey there Turkeys! Just wanted to stop in and say hello! My family will be cruising with you all in what is now a matter of a few short days on November 22nd! We're so excited! This will be our sixth cruise and fifth on DCL. Our last was in the Med last July.

Because the cruise is coming up so quickly and we still have so much to do (in addition to the few members of our party who are terribly antisocial -- I'd want to spare you of those) we don't think we'll be participating very much in meets or the FE exchange this time around. Still, I can't wait to see you all around the ship! I hope everyone has a wonderful time. :goodvibes

:welcome: to the new Turkeys! Where have you guys been? You're missing all the fun.

Zandy595,
Great! DS will be very excited.... I will have him PM you this afternoon after school and homework is completed.

Thanks!

Happy Birthay Kiah!!! Ken, enjoy the big surprise. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Michelle and Ken, thanks for the updated photopass info. I'm excited to be able to view pics at the kiosk, even if it's limited. I always wished that Shutters was opened early, when I was up exploring the ship and had the time to look. Plus, it's so nice and peaceful in the early mornings.

Chaos, I emailed you.

Ok, We are off to go surprise DD. I dont know if I am more excited about telling her or actually going on the cruise.

Looks like it has been a busy day.

As to gatorade/powerade, I bring about 8 plastic bottles onboard in my soft-sided cooler. As of our last cruise - July 2008 - they did not sell any of that stuff on the boat or at CC. There is nothing worse (ok slight exaggeration) thanplaying volleyball on the beach for 2-3 hours and then not having anything but water or beer to drink. Yes, I like beer, a lot, but, drinking a beverage that tends to dehydrate you when you are already dehydrated just does not work...so i might have one after a couple bottles of gatorade.

Is everyone keeping an eye on Tropical Depression 17? I just heard someone on the weather channel say it will most likely become a hurricane. And if it stays on it's projected path it will come VERY close to Grand Cayman this weekend.

Hmm. new cruisers who reside in central Florida....actually, though that happens all the time b/c if there are rooms left over, Disney frequently offers a Florida resident rate special...we have used it too and it usually only opens 30-45 days out from date of sailing...and the main reason, I think, that it is for Florida residents is b/c we don't ned airline tix to get to the port.

Chuck:cool1:

Fortunately that is THIS weekend...in 2005 we had the pleasure of dealing with Gamma, after they ran out of letters, which precluded our stopping in GC altogether. Also, fortunately, we don't sail for another 17 days.

Chuck:cool1:

Thanks for the Powerade info. Now does anyone know what is available at the beverage station besides Coke and Diet Coke?
So glad the tropical depression/hurricane is not developing 2 weeks from now!

Suzanne - Thanks for the powerade powder info and the offer. I'm getting groceries this weekend and will look for it! Those will be very easy to pack.

Welcome to all of the new cruisers to our thread.:cheer2:

 Irishcowboy--we cruised together back in March of 07. How are you? Can't wait to sail again soon!

Hope everyone has had a great day. It's rainy and gloomy here--a perfect night to keep the couch warm.:rotfl:

We broke 70 today, and predicting the same tomorrow. I think our weekend will be yucky and possibly snow next week. I think you send us a lot of your weather.
Keep that couch warm tonight cause you'll be keepin' a deck chair hot, hot, hot in 17 days!
How's Brianna doing? Back to baseline?:rotfl2:
Ian wants to go out for wings tonight and I don't feel like leaving the house. But I don't feel like cooking either. It's already 6:00 and I haven't started dinner so I think it will be wings....

DH and I were trying to remember if that was where we got milk for the little one or if we had to go to the counter service places. For some reason, I thought we got milk at the drink station at deck 9 on DCL and had to hit the restaurants on Carnival. :confused3

I do not recall there being milk at the drink station, but I am not certain.

The drink station has the usual coke products like sprite etc, but the choices are limited to 6 or so, and I know orange soda is not one of them (b/c DS always wants orange).
