I will be taking a trip to WDW just my 4yo son and I. I would like to hear any tips or experiences any of you have had with this type of trip.
I'm sure I'll be o.k. but would like to hear from others.
THANKS!!!

I don't have any experience, but I'm sure you guys will have so much fun! I know I'd have a blast w/ my 4 year old. I would say just to be all about him since it's just him. Let him take a little of a lead in what he would like to see, etc. and just enjoy each other's company.

I take DD(4) by myself quite often (DH can't take as much DIsney as we can!). Honestly we have a much better time by ourselves. We can do whatever we want without having to worry about entertaining daddy.

My advice would be to be sure to try to stick to his schedule as best you can as far as eating and sleeping...everything else will fall into place.

Have a great time!

No advice, I'm just jealous! I'd love to go alone with my 4yo DS but it just won't happen any time soon. That would be such a fun trip - all about him and the cool stuff that he can do now that he meets so many height limits for rides!

I love it!:rotfl: I have the exact same trouble with my husband he likes disney but really does not want to go so often, whereas I think I could just live there.
Thanks for all the positive response!

Make the trip about your child. Don't preset your plan... let them decide what to do. If that means riding Buzz 4 times in a row... so be it. IT IS ALL ABOUT THEM!

Have a sturdy stroller, a change of clothes, lots of water and enjoy your precious time with your 4 year old.

My son and I have gone solo on 3 trips... 4, 5 and 6 years old. He will be 8 when we go over Halloween for 2 days at WDW and the 7 night Disney Cruise!! :thumbsup2

We don't do strollers, and our family splits-up a lot when we are at Disney. DS5 and I end up alone many nights because DH and DS8 have run off to MGM for RNRC.

So my advice would be...
Have fun, buy lots of ice cream, let him choose what you do (we ended up doing 3 parks in one day!), and make him promise that if he falls asleep on the bus he'll wake up and walk when you get to the hotel. :thumbsup2

You are going to have a fantastic time!!! :goodvibes

After reading the responses I fell so much more relaxed about the trip. I had been trying to plan everything meticulously, while some planning is needed, I shouldn't try and plan every hour of the day.

The best advice I've received is just to make it about him, to do the things he wants to do. It makes me so happy to see my baby having a great time:goodvibes so i'll just relax and follw his lead and I know I'll have a great time too.:wizard:
THANKS!!!
