hi i am traveling solo with 4 kids and would like to get adjoining rooms at all star sports. they said there needs to be 2 adults has anyone ever booked to rooms with one adult

Pretty sure that there has to be a different adult for each room reserved. Is one of the children 18+yrs old? If not then you'd probably need to get a family suite.

I agree with Minnie Mum, I think there has to be an adult per room. I think this is because adjoining rooms (side by side) and connecting rooms (door between) are a REQUEST, not Guaranteed.

There are rooms at the Port Orleans Riverside that can accomodate 5. That might be less expensive than the family suites although perhaps not as convenient as then you'd only have 1 bathroom.

Either way, welcome!

You want CONNECTING rooms. Not adjoining.

Adjoining means the rooms are near each other. Connecting means there is a door between two rooms.

At any rate they're still a request. They might tell you that the connecting room is guaranteed, but there have been reports of parties with multiple kids not getting connecting rooms.

I think you should try calling them back and specifying CONNECTING rooms, see what they say, they might still require one adult to be registered in each room.

I thought the only time that a CONNECTING room (with door between) would be guaranteed is exactly this situation - when there isn't an adult for both rooms. Parties with 2 adults run the risk of getting split with the expectation that 1 adult would be in each room. I'd suggest the OP call back, specify CONNECTING rooms and give the reason, and see what response you get. It is also possible that there are no connecting rooms available for the date(s) of interest - if that is the case ask about whether you arrived a day later or left a day earlier, would that make a difference? Or try one of the other value resorts - maybe another All Star and you can still visit the ASSp food court and pool if that was of specific interest to your kids. Sometimes with very specific requests, you have to show willingness to be a little flexible.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) as many of us have found at times, calling back to get a different CM can have a completely different result. So even though it's a pain, don't be afraid to call back a couple times if need be.

Good luck!

Actually this situation is the reason connecting rooms are not guaranteed and why there has to be at least one adult for each room. There are only so many connecting rooms. What if there was a maintenence issue with one of the connecting rooms and there were no more available?

I recently tried to assist a coworker who is a single parent with 5 minor children. She is a first time WDW traveller on a budget and wanted 2 connecting rooms at a value. She was told repeatedly that she could not book 2 rooms and that they would be required to stay in one room because the connecting rooms were not guaranteed. She even asked about the "guaranteed connecting" and was told the same thing. Se tried several times with different cm's. They won't let you do it. Ultimately she ended up offsite. OP, I would recommend booking a family suite or at POR.

Thanks everyone I ended booking a cabin with a great Florida resident rate. I'm sure we will love it :cool1:
