First post on the board -- great forum! My DW and my 2 DS's (ages 5 and 3) are all set for the 9/6 Eastern cruise on the Magic (first cruise for me and my sons, 2nd for DW). We are flying out of Chicago-O'Hare and are scheduled for arrival in Orlando at 1:14 pm on the day of the cruise (we booked the flight, cruise and ground transportion through Disney). From our travel documents, it seems that the final shuttle from the airport to the port leaves at about 1:30 pm. The arrival time seems to leave little time to catch the ground transportation. Has anyone else booked through Disney as we have and had any difficulty in catching the ground transportation to the port? How long does it take to arrive at the port from Orlando?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the DIS boards rb93!

It takes about an hour to get from MCO to the port. I've never booked through Disney, but I am quite sure that if they have you on the list, they won't leave the airport without you! A word of warning, though: you may have trouble booking spa and/or Palo, arriving as late as you are. You won't be getting to the ship until around 3PM, and reservations start around 1PM. But if you're flight is set, there isn't much you can do. You might have to settle for whatever is left!

In any case, have a great cruise!

They will get you to the ship from the airport if you booked through Disney but that is a very late time, I would have flown in the day before since you won't get on the ship until after 3.

RB93,

We are also on the 9/6 cruise:D
We have not gotten our ground transportation yet. Did they have the information in your documents? I have not gotten my docs yet, so I also need to book Disney ground transportation. Can you please provide the phone number to call disney transportation.
Thanks, and see ya there!

Incharge,

Who did you book though? If you booked though DCL, you should check your reservation sheet. It will tell you if you have transportation. When we first got our quote, the quoted our trip with transportation and insurance included. I had to ask to have it (transportation) removed because we were using a car service.

If you booked outside of DCL, you might try calling their 1-800-WDW CRUI(SE) number and ask what to do to take the buses. I think you can also arrange this at the desk at the airport where others (who have already arranged it) will be waiting to go.

Personally, I prefer a car service because there is no waiting for the buses to fill up and you will get there faster. There is Tiffany Towncar, Happy Limo and Your ride just to name a few. I think we are going to use Art's Shuttle for the roundtrip from the airport to the cruise and back. It is $100 for the three of us in a mini van (by ourselves). We've used Tiffany before and were happy, Art's is a little cheaper. I don't know if the van is similar to the ones they use for the shuttles for the cruise from the port hotels or not. They are a bit used. My husband said he wouldn't mind.

Have fun!

Thanks musicgirl,
I called the number you gave me to DCL, and had to call Cruise 411 to have them book the transfer. Thanks for the info.
