Travelers checks in parks?

How easy are travelers checks to use in the parks for meals/souveniers? I don't want to take all cash or Disney Dollars for fear of loss. I also prefer not to charge everything, I feel like I'll overspend that way. Any opinions on using travelers checks?

We use them often on our trips. We have never had a problem weather it's a sit-down meal, counter service, or a snack cart. Never had a problem for merchandise either. I use them for pretty much the same reasons.

I'm pretty neurotic about having cash, so we always use traveler's checks too. I've even used them to buy sno cones at Epcot, there's never been a problem at all.

Almost like cash, but just remember it's who signed them when you got them that can use them. If you need to give someone else in your party some $, go to Guest Services and they'll cash them for you!

We always get the travelers checks that allows 2 people to sign. That way either my DH or I can use them. We both keep some with us. When you are a AAA member, you can get the two signatures ones for free.

We've used them every time we go too.....very convenient and not any problems using them anywhere.

3 days to go!!!! woo hoo !!!!!!!

I have never had a problem with traveler's checks anywhere at Disney. I feel much more comfortable using them than cash or credit/debit. I can keep up with exactly what I spend each day with no surprises.

American Express came out witha travelers check card. Works like the paper travelers checks, but you pre load it with the amount of cash you want to bring with you. Then you use it like a credit card, just deduct what you use. They were having a special...if you open a travelers check card you yould get one companion airline ticket free....not a bad deal. :sunny:

Tell me more please. Do you have to be an American Express member to get the check card & the special???

Thanks
