travel to ship from WDW

I am staying at POrt Orleans for 2 nights prior to the 7 day cruise...does anybody know the pick up times and what if any is a better place to stay for an earlier pick up to go to the ship! HELP please! Julie

None of the resorts have a good pickup time.

If you are using DCL transport from WDW to ship your choices of pickup times are really bad, awful and much worse.

The DCL bus to the ship was the worst part of our vacation in December.

Half the monitors didn't work, ceiling panels hanging down, arrived at the ship so late that all reservations were gone.....

Take the advice that others will give you on here and don't use DCL transportation.

Take Mears transport back to the airport and catch the first (10:30 I think) DCL bus to the Port?

I reccomend u take a town car service to the ship , and u could always use the bus for the way back ,,,, bad pickup times at the resorts... the break point for the towncar is about 3 people , that is to say if u purchased disney transportation..
From resort to ship and back to Airport , u would save money by hiring a private town car service for your trip ......

If you are arriving by air rent a car and return it at the port before you sail. If you are at WDW for 2 days that should mean you only need a 3 day rental and would probably be cheaper then both the transfers and a town car service. That way you can come and go as you please, even avoid using the busses at WDW which except for the MK is a much better choice.

Heck,
You can rent a car for the couple of days and return it near the port.
Budget gave me a great one way rental of $47.00 for a full size car each day.
I now can drop off my family at the ship, and run the car over to Budget and catch the shuttle to the port.
I love having my own car. I can come and go when I want, don't have te rely on any driver, bus, etc. You can use the car to pick up, booze, beer, soda, treats, etc. for the ship from a local grocerie store.
