Our original plans were to drive from Houston to Orlando for our June trip. With gas prices and the hassle involved with driving, we decided to fly. I was able to save $1000 :woohoo: by flying into Ft. Lauderdale instead of Orlando. We are going to rent a car and drive in the night before our reservation begins. Can anyone give me an appoximation of our travel time from Ft. L to Orlando? TIA

Hi,

It's about 215 miles from FLL to WDW. So figure about three and a half hours IF there is not much traffic (that's a big "if!")...

I have made the trip many times Bob is right on the money.
Hi bob from your neighbor in New Rochelle.

I live in Ft. Laud and they are right. Depending on what time you decide to drive will make all the difference. We usually leave at around 4:30am and get to WDW before 8am with no stops. At night however (8pm-1am) truckers are out with everyone else so sometimes it like driving in 5pm traffiic (not that bad but not smooth sailing). But yes it should take about 3.5 hours to get there.

Just make sure you take the turnpike. It is well worth the $16.00 or so dollars it takes not to have to go I-95 (Especially if it is anywhere near rush hour times).

If you do decide to drive do find out the correct exit off the turnpike...I always seem to get off the one right before the correct one. :rotfl: It's fine but just takes a little bit longer, minutes count you know ;)

A big hello to my fellow westchesters!!!! :cheer2:
