Hey everyone,

I tried posting this on another forum, but received no responses. Our flight home is on a Wednesday at 12:50 pm. We were wanting to go to the parks for an hour on Wednesday and leave at 10 am for LAX. Will leaving at 10, give us plenty of time to get to the airport and go through security? Based on the Southwest airlines website, it said to get to LAX 1.5 hours in advance. Is this right?

Thanks

I think you would be fine, but I would leave earlier if you need to drop off a rental car, gas it up, etc. You may want to check the TSA or airport website (sorry can't remember which one has the info) to find out the security wait times at that time on a Wednesday. Wednesday is one of the lightest flying days though, so that is good.

Our friends will be dropping us off at the airport. They will have the rental car the rest of the week. Is there a lot of traffic on the interstate at 10 am? I have heard that it can take 40 minutes or 2 hours to get from DL to LAX. Im hoping that it wont take over an hour.

It has never taken us more than an hour, even when it seems like we are sitting in traffic. We usually leave the hotel 4 hours before our flight, return the car, etc, and end up waiting around for a long time. Hopefully locals will chip in with better info on local traffic at that time:)

Thanks for the info. We have never been to DL before, and have the opportunity to go for a couple of days. We are getting there Sun and leaving Wed. We ended up buying a 4 day because it was only $13 more than a 3 day. That way, if we needed to buy anything at the parks or do a couple of rides Wed morning, we can before we leave. We are staying at GC, so it would be fast and convenient.

We had a 12noon flight from LAX and we left Hojo @ 8:45am and we just had enough time...just. Our shuttle driver said that you should give yourself up to 3 hours before your flight to make sure you get there with enough time because the traffic can easily be horrendous!:sad1:

You are suppose to be at your gate 30 minutes prior to flight and we were through security 30 minutes prior to our flight...and it was a "slow" day for them! (as per one of the TSA agents).

Either way...Good Luck!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info. If we leave at 10 and our flight is at 12:50. That gives us 2:50. Hopefully that will be enough.
