travel insurance

Has anyone bought travel insurance? I am intersted in the type that you can use if you cancel your trip, I don't need medical/lost baggage stuff. Thanks

I think that's usually purchased through a travel agent when the trip arrangements are made. The airlines may also offer it if you purchase directly from them (I think I've seen options to check for this on orbitz or on the airline web pages).

I've used it in the past. Be sure to check the reasons covered. Usually just changing your mind or business reasons are not covered, most are for illness or death in the family. Also check pre-existing condition clauses. Some will waive the pre-existing condition clause if you purchase within 7 days of your initial deposit.
