travel insurance

Hello everyone!
I am hoping someone can help me here. I have a guest from the US looking to get travel insurance for thier trip. I have never bought it before and I am not sure where are the best places to look for the insurance.
Also do you have to insure everyone on the trip or just the main person booking the trip?
How does the cancelation coverage work for someone buying the insurance?

We booked out insurance through insuremytrip.com We insured everyone in our party, the kids were free. It cost us about $65 total and the coverage was pretty good. They covered lost luggage, delayed traveled, canceled flights, delayed luggage, the cost of the rental home... We weren't sure what we needed for coverage, so I emailed the company to be sure that the rental home was covered with the plan and they got back to us very quickly and let us know that the plan we chose did in fact cover it. We didn't need to use the insurance, but I was glad we had it.

As an aside, I'm seeing more and more villa rental contracts that explicitly state that the renter is responsible for purchasing trip insurance if it is desired, and encouraging them to do so before sending any non-refundable deposit. This removes many pre-existing condition restrictions, depending on the specific policy.

I agree I think it gives everyone peace of mind. I never bought it before, but I would definately buy it now. Its just not something that a lot of Americans do unless going on a Cruise or something.
Thats why I am working with this group of people to get them to purchase it for thier peace of mind before thier trip is booked.
