My wife and I are going to suprise our kids with a trip to WDW in early December. Can anyone give me an idea as to what the crowds/weather or any other imformation I could use for going this time of year. Is the MVMCP a good time?

The crowds are light early Dec and the weather is usually good. We went last year and had one cold (50's) day.

The CM's were wearing winter coats for the Xmas party and they were happy to have them that night, while we New Englanders were wearing light sweat shirts.

The MVMCP is a must. Great time, small crowds, cookies, cocoa and a family photo also.

Yes, it is better to purchase MVMCP tickets before hand.

This way you should be able to get the night you want. Many nights sell out, therefore waiting to get them at the gate may result in you not getting tickets.

I went this past Christmas, the crowds were fine, hardly any wait time, except be sure to avoid the Magic Kingdom on Saturdays! Not only are they busiest Saturdays, but they were taping the Very Merry Christmas Parade! It was extremely difficult just getting down Main Street.

We went the first week of December. I also agree about the MVMCP as a must-see. We rode Buzz Lightyear like five times in a row, just walking on and on again. After the first parade, the park really cleared out.

One word of advice! Bring plenty of sweatshirts, hats and gloves! I only brought one sweatjacket and I was wearing it everyday! During the MVMCP my ears were freezing. It got warm enough during the day to wear shortsleeves, but in the mornings and evenings it was chilly.

Enjoy!!!

We love to go in December. The crowds are lightest in the beginning of the month, and get more crowded as Chistmas approaches. From our experience, the crowds really start to roll in the Saturday before Christmas.

Also, be prepared for all temperatures. We have worn shorts and we have worn thermals. Be sure bring goves, etc from home.

MVMCP is fantastic. The lines are really managable. The fireworks are teriffic. The extra shows are all really good as well.

Epcot is magical, not only because of the Candelight Processional, but because each country tells its traditional holiday story.

MGM has the Osborn Lights, which are supposed to return this year.

If you can make time, try to take a look at some of the Christmas displays at the various resorts.

The Travel Channel did a special on Disney at Christmas last year. If you get a chance to see it, it will tell you all about everything that is going on at Christmas in Disney.

You will have a great time. In my opinion, there is no better time to go.

I LOVE going in Dec. This past year we went the first week of Dec. and it wasn't crowded at all. It was also fairly warm weather. MVMCP is DEFIANTELY a must. The only suggestion I have is to go during the week. We went on Tuesday night and they were still selling tickets right up to the event and we got right on every ride. We tried to go again on Friday and tickets were sold out Friday morning when we inquired about it. Have fun.
