I'd like to go to a convention in January in Jacksonville. Closest international airport is Orlando, so looking at flights to Orlando.
I know travel city direct tend to have good prices, but on their website I can only choose 14 nights. I don't need that much, a week is enough. Also, if I choose a fly drive, they add the price for the car (which is more expensive than other places). Any way I can round these 2 issues?

Have you checked on Expedia to see if a non-direct flight would be cheaper?

London Gatwick to Jacksonville via Detroit is £650 with Northwest Airlines

Otherwise you would need to try a scheduled daily service to get the flexibility - at a price.

If you want 7 nights with TCD you will need to call them as they only do this over the phone.

I know its about a 4 hour journey, but what about Atlanta and using Delta?
You could have an overnight stop? and there are some excellent outlets on the Fl/GA border!!
