Travel Channel Fans Guide

Not that this is any surprise, but I keep getting questions about when our Fan's Guide to Walt Disney World will be back on the Travel Channel -- it will be on again tomorrow (Monday) at 4:00pm Eastern Time.

I knew I recoginized you on tv! When I saw your family on tv, I swore to DH, that i saw a pic of you guys on the DIS! I taped the show the last time it came on. How were you selected for that show?

We auditioned for it and went through a long interview. It happened over a year ago -- and the show is already getting dated. It's funny to come across it when it comes on. Hope you enjoyed it!

So you're the Animal Kingdom family! I was wondering if any of the people on the fan's guide were Disers. Now I know! (BTW, I totally agree that Dinosaur is one of the most amazing rides out there )

Yes, we lurk in the shadows here -- so does Erika, the mother of the other family.

If you watch close during the shots of us on the Dinosaur ride, there are lights under our hand grips -- and we can't see a thing! So we're screaming at everything! It is so funny to watch in slow motion. I am looking around to find something to scream at!

Can you give me the correct name of the show? I did a Tivo search and it didn't come up. We have the Travel channel on Direct TV, here in No. CA.

It should be "Fans Guide to Walt Disney World" as the title -- but I just looked at the Travel Channel is listing for that day and it's gone! The production company sight still lists it for August 1 at 4:00pm eastern, but another show is listed on the Travel Channel site. Who knows! It was on last week anyway. Sorry if this is bad information -- schedules change, I guess!

It's not listed on my guide either..... My travel channel lists "The Incredible Catacombs" for 4 pm Monday. I was going to set my computer to record it but it must not be showing here. I've been missing all the Travel Channel Disney shows this year! I would love to see you guys on the show. I'll check at 4 tomorrow just to make sure it's not on.

I hope it is still going to be on. I've watched it before but I love watching anything Disney! It seems like I always see something I never saw the first time.

Thanks to the Magic of Tivo, I caught it. I can't honestly say I learned anything from it (which I suspect is true of many DISers), but I had a great time watching it. This is by far the best special I've seen about Disney World. I highly recommend seeing it whenever it comes on again. Thanks Dave!

I just got a reply from the travel channel email I sent them last week requesting to buy a copy. (Which they are not for sale) But they did say it will be airing again September 6 at 10am.

If anyone has taped all of these Disney and IOA shows I would love to buy them from you and pay for shipping. <--- don't have TIVO

Thanks for all info here! So it's on again in September - sorry for the false alarm! We did see the show about a week ago while I was at a camp. They are really stretching our 15 minutes of fame -- I wonder how long they'll keep showing it? Anyway we're heading to Disneyland for our slice of birthday cake in a couple weeks, and then back to the World next year for our middle son's graduation trip -- our Disney Dream Rewards are mounting up!

They're still showing Disney-oriented shows that talk about "upcoming" attractions such as Test Track and "a space themed ride!"

And promoting the Alien Encounter!

I've seen all of the above in the last couple of months on the Travel Channel.

Another thing they do is recycle bits from one show into another show. The one you were in is pretty specific in format, so it may not happen to you, but I've seen the same segment on Tusker house, for example, in different shows with different hosts.

I would as well. At least for the Disney shows. My area doesn't get the Travel Channel except in the On-Demand section and they haven't shown any of the Disney shows. I keep reading about the upcoming shows and they look great. I'm bummed I can't see them.

I have lots of shows on tape, but no way to copy them. They're in pretty bad shape by now as they are used so frequently for Treadmill Fodder. Sorry I can't be more helpful......

Hey Dave!!

I noticed on the Lightship website it was on July 28th and August 1st. I guess we're still going strong after all these years!!!! Still waiting for word on the sequel.

I have this as "Save until I delete" on my TiVo. Kids love to watch it...hey, so does DW and myself! We have it on right now!
