Travel Channel Fans Guide

Dave - I KNEW you had to be a DIS-er. My dd11 laughed when she saw you handing out your laminated itineries. "Hey, they're just like you mom! Are they on the computer?" LOL
My kids really liked that show. :)

I have TIVO, and the Travel Channel. I also have a DVD burner. I would be more than happy to start recording all of the Disney shows as they come on, and then I can burn them to DVD for some of you. It may take me a while though to get them all, since I don't currently have any of them saved. Let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

Dana

I have to say this is one of my favorite WDW shows on the Travel Channel!!! :goodvibes

It's not listed on my guide either..... :confused3 My travel channel lists "The Incredible Catacombs" for 4 pm Monday. I was going to set my computer to record it but it must not be showing here. I've been missing all the Travel Channel Disney shows this year! I would love to see you guys on the show. I'll check at 4 tomorrow just to make sure it's not on.

My DH entered "Walt Disney World" or variations of it in our wish list and our Tivo recorded it. He also put in the names of the hotels and theme parks. I know we are staying at AKL so he put that in our wish list and that is how we got this particular episode - so try using your wish list and Tivo will have all kinds of neat things for you! We love our Tivo!

I surprised my DH with a trip (he's NEVER been to DW, can you believe it?) and have had this show recorded to my DVR for months! Everytime I thought that I just couldn't stand not telling my husband about the surprise, I watched this show. It really helped me get a Disney "fix" and I was able to keep my mouth shut (for about 9 months :earseek: )until it was time to tell him ;) . I haven't watched it for a few weeks and I'm not doing anything for the next hour, hmmm... It is kinda exciting that the families in the show are actually DIS members! Dave and Erika, thanks for all of the great info about Disney and for helping me keep my secret! :wave2:

What I did was create an Auto-Record wishlist for "Disney" and "Travel Show",and it records all Travel related shows with the keywork of Disney in it. Works great!

I would as well. At least for the Disney shows. My area doesn't get the Travel Channel except in the On-Demand section and they haven't shown any of the Disney shows. I keep reading about the upcoming shows and they look great. I'm bummed I can't see them. :sad2:
I am actually compiling a DVD of all Travel Channel and Food Network Shows Related to Disney. I am going to edit the commercials and put them on 1 or 2 DVD's.

These are the shows I have so far:
Great Hotels: Disneyland Grand Californian
Great Hotels: Disney's Grand Floridian
Great Hotels: Disney Yacht & Beach Club
Great Hotels: Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Great Hotels: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Fans Guide to Walt Disney World
Ultimate Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World Behind the Scenes
Disney Cruise Line
Disney's Animal Kingdom
The Disney Roseanne Episodes
The Disney Full House Episodes

I am still waiting for the Disneyworld Unwrapped Food Network Show

I would be more than happy to create DVD's for people as long as they pay for the DVD + shipping charges

Wow, this thread resurrected!

I don't know why, but it's so strange to hear that people record this show and watch it over and over. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but it's weird to be on the "viewed" end of this. I had a super weird experience at the Mall of America Disney Store a few months ago when one of my sons and I were looking at something there and this woman kept watching us. We moved to another part of the store, and she followed us. Finally she walked up to me and almost whispered "I love your show on TV." I turned to thank her, and she wouldn't drop eye contact as she said "I have your show on Tivo, and I watch it every day."

I got so creeped out.

I know you folks on DIS are not that obsessive, though I have some shows on tape I watch to obsession before we go on a trip. You know those kids on Disney World beach party? They now must be in their 20's, but I'd know them by sight if I saw them (and I'd whisper to them that I watch them every day).

Hey, just one last question - if any of you have Discovery HD, our show is supposed to be on that someday in an extended version. I've got a copy of that show, but wonder if they will ever show it. If anyone see's it pop up there, let us know!

The WDW Unwrapped was on a couple of weeks ago (3-4, I think). It was really good. DS likes to hear about the ice cream bars. He says "we're definitely getting one of those!". :mickeybar

Dave - I love the show - seeing every point of view on how to enjoy WDW.

I am semi-commmando.

I have our HHD reservations and Mickey Magical Milestone tour reserved.
My DS and I have already planned where we will see the 4th of July fire works - times for some sit-down meals and what parks to visit on which day.
My DD and I have already started to pcik up a few items to pack.
DH has requested horse back riding on our next adventure - we still have to plan which day for an 8:30 AM ride reservation.
DD & DS have requested mini-golf this time too.

I will keep a CM busy for 30 minutes at 7 AM on my 90 day mark (sorry folks).

We have AAA rates for WL and look each week for AP best rates on the website www.disneyworld.com/passholder.

I bought DisneyQuest tickets for all of us, with a www.mousesavers.com discount ($21 for an Adult ticket)

:rotfl: and we do not leave till JUNE 2006 for 15 days in WDW :rotfl:

Do I fit into your commando ways ?

But we do take pool breaks. :fish:

Hi! :wave2: I checked this thread after the airdate mentioned by the OP. If anyone else wants to see the Fan's Guide to WDW, my Tivo lists the next showing as Tuesday 9/6 at 10 a.m. on the Travel Channel.

You're further ahead of us - and we have a trip coming up in March!

We don't consider us being commando - just docket scientists!

Keep doing those pool breaks, and you'll be just fine!

What is the name of the specific show Dave is in? I've been TiVo-ing all the shows, but haven't seen "his" yet!

OK - we are somewhat commando (you should have seen us at Disneyland a couple weeks ago = read posts = I'm still recuperating). Just to reassure people, when we're talking "commando" it has nothing to do with clothing. :earseek:

Looking forward to seeing us during coffee time.

Just wanted to say...I looked on our network...and it lists "The fans guide.." playing at 7am...Pacific time. on the Travel channel. I was trying to do a "search"...for the title but it didn't show up..I had to go to the guide and scroll through the whole listings for the Travel channel until I found it. :confused3 ...but it's there and I'm planning on either getting up to watch it or...taping it. :teeth:

Either way..I thought i'd let everyone know it's at 7am...Pacific time :goodvibes
