Travel by boats

From Epcot (International Gateway entrance), The Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan, and Dolphin the answer is yes. From anywhere else, only bus transportation is available.

CDavid is absolutely correct..........
The Friendship boats travel from the International Gateway of Epcot (the back entrance/exit) to the Studios. Along the way they stop at the Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach clubs, and Swan/Dolphin.
Very nice relaxing ride.

Thanks for the information. Is there anyway to take the boat at the Poly to MGM? We really don't like the buses.

Not from the Poly, or from anywhere else for that matter. The Friendship boats only serve Epcot, the Epcot area hotels, and the Studios.
If you really dislike the buses so much so you always grab a cab at the Poly to get to the Studios. The other alternative is to take the monorail (or walk) to the TTC. Take the Epcot monorail and walk through Epcot and exit at the International Gateway which is where you will find the Friendship boats.

Why have I never heard of this boat???? Who runs it? Can anyone use it??? I'm making it my goal to do new & different things on this trip - so DH won't complain when I tell him we'll be going to Disney again in 2006!!
Christineprincess:

From the monorail to the old "people mover", Disney has always made (for me at least) getting there more than half the fun.

We stayed at the Poly last year (what a treat!) without a rental car and truly enjoyed using 3/4 different modes to get to the MK:
Express monorail from the TTC
Resort monorail from the Poly's 2nd floor
Ferry from the TTC (our favorite!)
Launch between Poly-GF-MK

For me discovering the different ways of getting around "the world" is a wonderful adventure . . .

Like the previous post suggested, one AM we took the Monorail to Epcot (we were able to ride in the front section!), did our Space-Test Track dance, then relaxed a bit with a leisurely walk through the World Showcase. Left via the "International Gateway" to Boardwalk. We enjoy that 'scene" too, so we had lunch there.

Then we took one of those "Friendship's" out to MGM and enjoyed the rest of our day there. Then a bus back to the Poly.

It's the Whoop de Dooper Loop de Looper Ali Ooper itinerary!

The Friendship boats are a part of the Disney transportation system. Just like the buses and the monorails. They run from Epcot to the Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht clubs, Swan/Dolphin and the Studios.
All guests are free to use them.
