Travel Agent warns cleint about ME

They are already using the ME buses at Disney. I kept seeing them delivering people to the hotel and I finally asked the clerk. She said they were doing a "soft opening" to make sure the bugs were all worked out by May 7th, or whenever the date is.

I look at it like this. Unless you are arriving after 3:00 pm you & your luggage will not be reunited until the 3:00 or 4:00 check -in. I always have a carry-on with 1 day change of clothes because airlines do loose luggage....if you don't have a connecting flight chances are your luggage will arrive with you. :cheer2: How long if it arrives in Orlando could my luggage be lost for? If it's an unreasonable amount of time....Then the worst that happens is I get upgraded to Conierge :earboy2: ( No this is not a policy Its just what I would ask for)

(copied from another post)

Now that people havce reported that there is no written confirmation of ME for those with room only reservations, I suggest that guests print This Disboards Thread and take it with them. Then if there should be a doubt or dispute upon arrival in Orlando, the guest can still expect to take the ME.

It is a good idea to have on each suitcase a second, preferably stick on, baggage label with your name, the resort name, the arrival date, the airport code MCO in big letters, and the words "Magical Express" on it.

Sounds like a plan and in theory it will work. The DME people seem optimistic but I'm not too sure I will just give up my receipt without receiving a receipt for my receipt, so to speak. That is my ONLY claim if my luggage is lost during transport on the airlines. I'll have no assurance it arrived at all, and if lost, will have no claim check. Call me skeptical, but without a receipt for my claimcheck, I will not just give it to them. So far they have NOT taken care of everything.

Technically Disney personnel do not have t he right to remove your baggage from the airport unless (1) they have the claim check or (2) the baggage has an ME tag on it.

These are separate strategy alternatives thT I think should be selectable:

1. You copy down all the information (excluding the bar codes) from your claim check onto a piece of paper and that becomes your receipt for your receipt which a Disney person signs for you.

2. You wait at the carousel and retrieve the non-ME-taggaged baggage yourself or if the baggage does not show up, you file a claim with the airline. Then you take the ME and the airline delivers any late arriving baggage. YOu do not need to know that the airline may choose ME baggage services instead of using its own couriers.

3. IN case of damaged or genuinely lost baggage you return to the airport Using the ME and then you file a claim with the airline.

Tell you TA to call ME and change the address! They can just have these things sent to YOU! (And if they can't do that you call ME..... ) Your TA has an unrequired step in here.
Disney is refusing to send ME tags directly to the traveler if they booked through a TA, I know this because my brother has been fighting with them about sending things directly to the client for a while. This isn't just with the ME tags it is with Passes etc.... Ok actually it is only with AP, just remembered that. But he hasn't even had luck with the client calling Disney and requesting it sent to them. They are insisting that they have to go through the TA.
