I know what Trash and Towels means emptying the baskets and changing the towels along with replacing toiletries but just what does “full cleaning” means? Yes, I know the beds get changes but does the bathroom get mopped and the floors vacuumed along with those things done on the trash and towel days?

In 2005 we stayed three weeks, the first week in a one bedroom lock-off which then was converted into a two bedroom for the second week and then back into a one bedroom for the third week. We made no room changes the entire time, just got the added space the second week. I don’t think Housekeeping has a cleaning schedule for that kind of stay. We inquired about not having the room cleaned, not even trash and towels after that first week (although my inquiry it was a day later). They said it was not on there schedule to do although they did come in after I asked and did something while we were gone. Could not really tell what was done, other than the baskets being emptied, since we had make up the bed and wash the towels ourselves. :laundy:

I know the cycle is every four days, full cleaning then trash and towels, but should we have had a full cleaning going from a one bedroom to a two bedroom? We did have to check out and then check back in although it was the same room only with the door opened.

you should absolutely have had a full cleaning twice in your main room, and one trash & towel in the extra room.

If you don't get the cleanings you are supposed to get call housekeeping or the front desk right away and politely ask them to check your schedule of cleanings against your check in date.

You actually had three separate reservations and they should have cleaned the room prior to the start of each reservation. You would have been entitled to Trash & Towels for each of those three reservations on the fourth day of each reservation.

We ran into that same issue last December. We started in the studio portion of a lock off for one night, then changed to the 2 bedroom of the same lock off for 5 nights and down to the 1 bedroom portion of the lock off for another 5 nights. When they did not clean the 1 bedroom side after closing down the lock-off, I called, because I really wanted fresh bedding after 5 nights. They said we weren't owed a cleaning because or 1 bedroom portion was only 5 nights, and I was calling the day I "checked in" to the 1 bedroom portion. It took a bit of conversation back and forth before I convinced them that I SHOULD have had a cleaning for checking into the "new" reservation.

My conjecture is that you are right that they don't really have a plan in place for that kind of stay. For that reason, our stay next November (which is another 5 night 2 bedroom down to a 5 night 1 bedroom), we are going to change rooms. I asked for a dedicated for the 2 bedroom portion and then moving to a 1 bedroom. MS reminded me that I would definitely have to move, and I told her it was the only way I could figure out to be sure I'd get my cleaning! Definitely a "glitch" in the system.

We also are planning on a Thanksgiving trip to BCV, God willing. It again will be three weeks, the first in a one bedroom then a two bedroom and back again to the one bedroom. I would almost rather put up wit the hassle than have to move everything into storage at check-out time and back into the next room when it becomes available. If I am assigned the same room for week two and again for week three, I will contact Housekeeping when I first check in and get some kind of schedule … somewhere I have the name of the name of the VP in charge of Housekeeping if it comes to that. Now where did I put that name? :confused3

We called housekeeping to make sure they cleaned our room when we changed from the one bedroom to the two bedroom. they did.

Just what is “full cleaning" when someone is occupying the room?
:confused3

See? The more I read here, the more I learn! We have not yet had the luxury of such a long stay as to encounter this type of issue, but we are hoping to go for a lengthy stay next year. This just got copied/pasted into my DVC tips and info. file.

Thanks!

Vacuum, dust, mop up bathroom floor, change bed linens, replace towels with fresh towels, wipe off counters, run the dishwasher, empty trash, etc.
