Trash and towel service

I saw a post regarding this recently but I can't find it now. I have a question regarding our trip. We are arriving on Jan. 20th and departing on Feb. 1st. According to my confirmation letter, we will get a full cleaning on Jan. 23rd then trash and towel on Jan 27th and another full cleaning on Jan. 31st. I think it is a waste to get a full cleaning the day before we leave. Can I request different days for full cleaning and t/t service? If so, who do I call to request this. Also, if I do change the dates, how reliable are they? I thought I have read in the past that they have not shown up on the right days. Maybe it is best to just leave it alone?

Yes, you may rearrange your housekeeping days. When you check-in have the front desk make the notation for you about the changes. I would also confirm the changes with housekeeping the day before any of the changes (ie- if you are changing the last full clean to the 30th- call on the 29th to remind them of the change.)

They work from a schedule and sometimes the changes are lost in the shuffle. A gentle reminder (and sometimes a tip) will usually work wonders to make for a more effective change.

I'm confused (what else is new). For an 11 night stay, isn't there just one full cleaning, which would be scheduled for the 8th day? There would be trash and towel on the 4th day, and then again 4 days after the full cleaning. We're new to this, so maybe I don't understand.
However, I've also been told that we could request changes to this schedule.
 
For an 8 night or more stay the schedule is different:

Day 4 - full cleaning
Day 8 - trash & towel
Day 12 - full cleaning
Day 16 - trash & towel
etc.

LisaR's stay is 12 nights, 13 days, so she has a full cleaning scheduled for day 12 (your check-in day is counted as day 1).

For 7 nights or less, the schedule is:

Day 4 - trash & towel

I was a bit miffed about our service this time. It wasn't a huge deal, but during our full cleaning, the housekeeper left no extra garbadge bags or anything (they even shortsheeted our bed). On our trash and towel service they left us double of everything, washing machine soap, dish soap, shampoo, everything. If they were going to give replacements, I wish they would have done so on the full cleaning day. We usually bring our own soaps and such so that didn't matter, but I had to chase housekeeping down for garbadge bags, which we don't bring.
 
We have always been lucky enough to have extra bags in the bottom of the trash cans. We tend to go through alot with 2 little boys so we usually empty our cans every other day. Our recent 9 day stay was top notch on both the full cleaning and t&t day. They were in and out before we returned in the noon hour for our little ones naps. Something that we battled for years at the moderates despite always requesting early maid service for our children's naps. Again we had wonderful service.
