Has anyone used their points to stay at the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont? Was thinking of going there next winter during ski season. I am having a hard time finding out the points total, where can I find this?

The Trapp Family Lodge is part of the World Passport Collection. To stay there you need to first see if they have your week available then if they do, deposit 160 points with DVC for a one bedroom and 270 points for a two bedroom since ski season would be considered high season in Vermont. You can also have them keep checking if one of your weeks isn't available and they will call you when it is. You don't have to deposit your points until it's available.

You might want to consider the Woodstock Inn which is in the Concierge Collection. It is a wonderful resort and only 15 to 20 minutes from the Killington Gondola.

Hi,
You could also try the Sagamore on Lake George NY.
This is also part of the conceriege collection, about 25 minutes away from Gore mountain. We stayed there for Presidents weekend this year & the place is beautiful ! they even have a shuttle service to the mountain. Since Lake george is more of a summer resort the point structure was off peak even for the holiday week so it didn't gobble up alot of points.. :smooth:
Gore mountain is a State run facility so the lift prices are not out of control !! Great sking trails , gondola , glades & a half pipe for the boarders. Only complaint was the heat had a tough time keeping up with the -20 temperature , thank goodness for the fireplace in the room & the never ending no charge wood suply delivered to us from the front desk... Looking forward to doing it again next year.

I haven't stayed at the Trapp Family Lodge but I have visited there many times. It is absolutely beautiful. There is cross-country skiing right at the resort and it isn't far to Stowe/Mt. Mansfield for some of the best downhill skiing in the East. THe Trapp Lodge offers the condo set up for a week long stay. Also in Stowe on our Concierge List is Topnotch if you wanted to do a shorter stay in a regular resort/hotel.

If you weren't aware, the Trapp Family is THE family from the Sound of Music. The resort really is Austria in VT.

Have stayed at the Sagamore (before DVC), and I love Gore. Wasn't very happy with the shuttle during our last stay, by the time it dropped you off at the mountain it was after 10. I like getting there before the lift opens, so I drove the rest of our stay. But maybe we will look into it again. Wanted to try Vermont (close to home), will look into the Topnotch. Really wanted slope side (is Topnotch slopeside? will check it out) Looking at the Interval International site I see several other places in Vermont that are not offered thru Disney, that were more attractive. Are we limited to what is in the Guidebook?

We stayed at Topnotch in 9/2000 and also at Woodstock, which is several hours south, but is near the Killington ski area.

Topnotch is not slopeside, but is a short drive to I believe Mt. Mansfield (or something like that) - we rode the gondola car to the top for the view - no snow that early. Stowe is a great area. I recommend a dinner at Whiskers near Topnotch if you go.

The Trapp Lodge is in beautiful, quiet hill country - very serene, but to me, a little "too serene" for a week's stay!
