Hi folks. This may sound a bit strange, but we want to do a day at Universal, leaving from Anaheim, and coming back to our hotel in Anaheim the same night. We would like to know what would be the best and most economical way to do that. We are considering taking the Greyhound bus from Anaheim to L.A. ($7 per person each way) then take a taxi to Universal.

We would be going on a weekday in October. Is that a good option? How long a trip is that to Universal, and how much would we pay for cab fare? Do you know of better options? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Not strange at all! We have done this twice now. The first time we rented a car and drove. Last November we hired SuperShuttle to take us (there were 10 of us that trip!). They picked us up at our hotel and were there to grab us at the time we specified at the end of the day. Driving was definitely easier as we could run on our own time, just a little hectic getting used to the freeway. But a GPS works marvelously!

Not a bad option at all. Taxi from the Greyhound station to Universal will be
about $40 each way. Greyhound to Los Angeles - about 40 min. Taxi to
Universal about 20 min.

It's not cheap, but this might be the easiest

A great trip report.

As I read it and saw the itinerary she posted my first thought was,"Oh no!" I
can see how the confusion happened to Nancy. An easy mistake when using
the wrong words while searching on line. the Blue Line "Anaheim" station is
Anaheim St. in Long Beach - as she learned.

We use the Red Line/Amtrak(or metrolink)/ART method often. Love it!
