I'm staying offsite and was wondering how to get from my hotel to Typhoon Lagoon. Do any of the busses go from the theme parks to the water parks? Or from the resorts to the water parks?
Buses go from DTD and all Disney resorts to TL. I don't believe there is regular transportion to TL from any theme parks (you may be able to connect through TTC).
Be forewarned, it seems transportation to the water parks is the least frequent of any of the buses.
If you're staying offsite the best connection spot would be DTD -- though this is fairly close to TL.
Is Typhoon Lagoon walking distance from Downtown Disney? If it's 2 miles or less, I'd prefer to just walk. My hotel is actually close to DTD, but I'm not sure which side it's on in relation to TL. I'll have to find out.

You could walk to TL from DTD, but unless it's from the West Side, it's a pretty good walk (I believe all resort buses leaving DTD go to TL)
If it's not a Disney Hotel, you'd be pretty far from TL in terms of walking. Best bet is if your hotel shuttle goes to DTD, and get Disney transportation from there (or get your shuttle to drop you off at TL).
From the Hotel Plaza/Disney Institute/SR 535 area: Proceed along Hotel Plaza Boulevard towards the Disney Village Marketplace. At the Disney Village Marketplace, turn left onto Buena Vista Drive. Drive completely past Pleasure Island and the AMC Theater (on the right). The entrance to TL will be a short distance further on the left.
I'd ballpark the distance at approx 4-5 miles from your hotel to the ticket entrance.
This is a common misconception. It's not true. Water park buses run at the same interval (15 minutes on average) as any other bus... because they are the same buses that run to Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney.

Typhoon Lagoon is not walkable from anything. There are no cross walks at the entrance to cross the VERY busy and high speed Buena Vista Drive, and the entrance road to TL is very narrow, and winds around corners. Not a good place to walk, when you have widebody buses flying around the corner.
However, while I haven't timed it, it's odd that so many people have this common misconception. Part of the issue may be that for most resorts, TL is on the same transportation loop as DTD. Thus, the bus makes at least three stops before it gets to TL.
You will want to go to a resort, Caribbean Beach or Pop Century is usually the best bet. If your hotel shuttle drops off at Transportation & Ticket Center (the Magic Kingdom parking) you will need to take the monorail or ferry to get to the resort bus loading area. At the resort transfer to a TL bus (destination sign also flashes Downtown Disney). I am told that at some times of day the bus stops at Typhoon Lagoon before going to DD proper.
