We are staying at Fort Wilderness Jan 9-17, 2009. This is our first trip to Disney World and we haven't a clue what we are doing.

From what I understand, we can take a boat from FW to the Magic Kingdom but how do we get to the other 3 parks? By bus? Driving is not an option becuase we have a motor home and we are not towing our car.

If I make a dinner reservation at another resort, how do we get there? Can we go to the Magic Kingdom and them ride the monorail?

Does the boat go anywhere besides the Magic Kingdom?

Is the Fort Wilderness Lodge close by? Can we get there by boat?

How do we get to Down Town Disney?

I appreciate any help!:)

There are buses from the Fort that go to ALL of the parks and other resorts. When you check in they will explain all of that to you if you need them too. They also have maps with color coded bus routes. There is also a bus that goes to Downtown Disney.

The buses aren't always the fastest way to get around...but you WILL get there. If you have reservations for dinner somewhere you will want to allow extra travel time to get there.

The boats will get you to The Magic Kingdom, The Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge.

For Wilderness Lodge there is a really pretty, paved trail through the woods. It feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere. It is about a mile long. Or you can hop on a bus back at the settlement area, or take the boat. There are lots of ways to get there and I would recommend trying more than one of them while you are there.

Welcome, you will love :lovestruc Fort Wilderness. The Fort has an internal bus system that loops from the Outpost where you check in to the Settlement where the boat dock is,and back. The boat dock has the boat to the Magic Kingdom and a smaller boat that loops between Fort Wilderness, the Contemporary and the Wilderness Lodge. They also have a bus to the Wilderness Lodge from here. The Outpost has buses that take you to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, the waterparks and Downtown Disney. To get to another resort either go to a park (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, ect.) or Downtown Disney and transfer to the Monorail or the resorts bus. You will be given maps when you check in, take time to study them :thumbsup2 and you will not have any trouble. Have a great trip.:cool1:

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

That is not half as complicated as I thought it would be!
