Transportation to IAH from Galveston port

For our 4th DCL we are doing the PC in Nov and having my in-laws join us for their 1st time. We have always done Disney transportation for the convenience but I do not have to worry about car seats anymore and there are 6 of us so I'm looking for suggestions of cheaper options. Our flight isn't till 6pm so we have time to work with too.

What have others done to get to IAH from Galveston port?

As a Houston native I would recommend looking into a rental car of some sort in Galveston. The cost will be a bit higher as you are going to want to turn it in at the airport. But it will give you options to look around instead of sit at the airport. Warning traffic here can be horrendous, and getting to IAH in time for a 6pm flight puts you going down one or more of the biggest highways at the start of rush hour.

Disney buses run to IAH (not Hobby, though). There are also limos, I think the most popular is called Galveston Limo.

Uber and Lyft is what we use at various ports.

we have done a couple cruises out of Galveston to Hobby. one time we used uber, one time we used Disney transportation. Both work out good. there was 4 of us and it cost us about $100 -$120 in total.

If you do not want to book a shuttle or car service, look into Lyft or Uber. There is one Enterprise on-island and their one-way rates are ridiculous, often $200 for a one-day compact car.
