Transportation to Hoop De Doo

We have a reservation at Hoop De Doo this weekend and I started wondering about the best way to get there if there are thunderstorms. The one time we've been before we took the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness which works fine. But I know they shut down the boats in thunderstorms.

If that is the case on our night, what is the best next option? We will have our car so we can drive to FW, but I know the parking area is well removed from Hoop De Doo. Are regular Disney buses a better option?

The buses are an option. There are internal buses at FW if you chose to drive yourself.

If you would let us know where you plan to be before you go to FW, we could give you more specific advice.

We'll be at GF. Like I said, if weather is fine, we'll just go over to MK and take the boat.

I guess the best question is, if it's pouring rain, is there any advantage to taking a Disney bus vs driving ourself? Does the bus get you closer to the restaurant, or are you relying on the intra-Fort Wilderness bus service the same way, no matter if arriving via car or Disney bus?

If it is raining, there should be a bus from MK to FW. If the bus is not running yet, an alternative is to take a bus from MK to WL and then a bus from WL to FW.

Does the bus get you closer to the restaurant, or are you relying on the intra-Fort Wilderness bus service the same way, no matter if arriving via car or Disney bus?[/QUOTE wont make much difference with bus or driving but if driving you will have a walk from parking lot to bus stop which will be uncovered. bus stop is covered. the yellow internal bus does stop at Wilderness Lodge and then at bus stop for Hoop. either way you will have the walk from bus stop to Hoop which is uncovered and there is not much covered area to wait for doors to open in rain. as others have said Minnie Vans can take you to Hoop area but I am not sure where they stop as we have never used but it will have some uncovered walk
