Transportation to/from Port Canaveral

We found https://www.goportcanaveral.com/ very convenient - they handle all transfers - airport/hotel, hotel/port, and port/airport(or hotel) included in the price of the hotel - or, they have a shuttle from MCO & local hotels to the Port for $15pp.

getting to KSC without a rental is a problem. Not impossible but any other option from a rental car is gonna cost a bunch more ...

while I appreciate the enjoyment of not having to drive when on vacation .... Cape Canaveral and the surrounding area is 'small town' as compared to most of the rest of the country. If we have to sit thru a stop light for a cycle we complain about the horrible traffic!

The drive from the port to the airport is also SUPER EASY .... a straight shot on 528 .... could not be easier.

Not wanting to drive around Orlando I understand completely ..... but beach side is very different and lacks any really good public transportation options other than taxi or UBER.

It sounds like we will definitely get a rental car for post-cruise KSC. I agree with your points on the location of the port being a much different place not to have a vehicle!! We also have a friend that lives in Orlando, so the missing link is whether we can maybe meet up with him the day before the cruise.

It getting a little more complicated than just booking the primary vacation! We have some time as we aren't going until May, but I like to have a general plan in place to work towards

Great tip! I would love to find something on the beach or close to the beach for the day before....I don't really see anything like that available. I mean we are coming far enough we can have a short driving on the morning of the cruise

Personally, I found figuring out ground transportation and hotels before and after to be much more effort than planning the actual cruise, but that only goes to show that the cruise itself is so EASY, and that there are so many choices for transportation and hotels, so it is good news. Have fun!
