Hi. Next transportation question…..is there boat transportation to and from Fort Wilderness? And if so, where from and where to? We have reservations at Kona today and I was hoping to be able to go to Circle D ranch to see the horses and then head over to the Poly.

TIA
Dee

There’s a boat between MK and the Fort, so you just have to get over to MK from Poly to be able to take it.

After 3(?)pm there’s also a boat route that goes between Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and the Fort.

The different routes are identified by color. I believe “green” is MK<->FW. “Red” is MK<->WL. “Blue” is the afternoon route between CR WL FW.

Have fun!

There is also a bus from the MK to FW and vice versa that puts you right next to the ranch. Sometimes the bus is faster than the boat. :-)

Thanks so much. We took an Uber to FW because we were, well….lazy!!!!! LOL and spent the morning relaxing. We really enjoyed the stables and took our time. Then we jumped on the boat over to MK. Very enjoyable ride. Had a pic taken in front of the Minnie and Mickey topiaries and, amazingly so, right behind us was a former co worker I havent seen in years! With his family!!!!! It was wonderful to see them and they were doing what we were doing, not going into the parks….at least for that day. Then we hopped the monrail over to the Grand for lunch at Gasparilla’s. Of course I did a little shopping and got some pics of the beautiful gingerbread house (very long line for the goodies so we have to try again). Came home, took a nap and headed to Kona at the Poly for dinner. Then up to TOW lounge for drinks with our friends (also DVC) and stayed to watched the fireworks. We ubered home, they walked to the bus stop for a bus to their home resort. Perfect day. Now I am very happy we didn’t rent a car. My husband is able to relax more.

I appreciate all your help in aiding my navigation!!!! We are definitely having fun.

Can anyone confirm that "after 3 pm" part?

Glad the ride shares are working out! So nice to let someone else do the driving!
