I posted a question about transportation from the Poly to US/IOA, but now I'm thinking we might do Busch Gardens instead. Can anyone tell me if there is a shuttle bus that picks up from the Poly and brings you to Busch Gardens? And how much?? :confused3

thanks

Busch Gardens is way down in Tampa. It would probably be easiest to rent a car, but honestly, I'm not sure I'd leave Disney to go to Busch Gardens. It's a fun day if you're already in Tampa -- It's like a combo of a zoo and Six Flags -- but it's no Disney or Universal Studios!

Ok thanks guys. I was thinking Busch Gardens would be fun because of all of the thrill rides.... but it may be too much trouble involved in getting there...
maybe we'll just stick with US/IOA for our day trip. ;)

Busch Gardens is a great park with awesome coasters,if you had a rental car it's a super simple drive, like just over an hour.To take the shuttle to the park the easiest way might be to grab a taxi to the Orlando Premium outlets or Sea World which are probably the closest places it picks up.

Wow, $10 round trip is really cheap! Great deal!

Yes, if you like big thrill rides, you might find a lot to do at BG. My DD is too short for half of them, and a few of the rides are water rides where you get wet. It was cold the day we went, so half the rides were not an option due to water or height.

The shuttle bus is free if you have some of the combo tickets. The bus gets you to BG as late as 11:30a and leaves at 6p.

Renting a car makes a lot of sense.

I live in Tampa, and we do Disney by the day and I can tell you that we never go for the day anytime during the summer months. It's just too hot and after a day of park walking in the heat that one hour drive home is killer! I can assume it is the same going from Busch Gardens Tampa area all the way back to WDW. You'd be exhausted but still have over an hour long trip, then you'd have to take a cab or bus back from drop off to resorts.

If you had a personal car, maybe, but it's a long haul after a day in the sun.

We rented a car to go to Busch Gardens when we were there in 2006. It was real easy. Rental price was cheap and we got a Mustang Convertible. We drove over to BG in the morning, spent the day there and ended up coming back and hit Animal Kingdom that night and had dinner at Rainforest Cafe. It was a great day. Hertz picked me up at our resort, brought me to SOG and then dropped me back off when I dropped the car off. It worked perfectly.
