I am sure I have missed this, but on our trip to WDW this fall, two of us are arriving via plane the night before very late so we booked ASMo for one night and will meet the rest of the family the next day at OKW. We were told we have to go to OKW the next day to get our MBs activated. I know they will move our luggage for us, but will they transport you from one resort to another or will we need to take the bus to a park and then over to OKW? We want to go to the park for a few hours before the rest of our party arrives. Thanks in advance for any advice!

The best way is to take a taxi. Resort to resort transportation using Disney buses can suck up a lot of time.

Several years back, we had to meet the rest of our group at OKW after staying 1 night at All Star Sports which had just opened and was the resort of choice for a 10-year-old birthday boy (who loved it!). Two of us rose early, headed to Epcot and then caught a bus over to OKW (everyone else headed to the water park). It took a while, although we were not in any particular hurry. As it turned out, the GV we had booked was ready for our group by 10:00 am, so we were able to enjoy it while waiting for the rest of the family....and our luggage. But you can't count on that; we were just lucky. In retrospect, a taxi would have been much quicker, but we did not think of it.

I am okay with the room not being ready, but unfortunately we have to go to OKW to get our park tickets/MBs activated before we can go to the park. Our tickets start on that day. Since we are arriving at ASMo at midnight the night before, I didn't feel it was worth buying an extra day of park tickets! It would be nice though if the room was already available early. We can always hope! I'm like you; I am headed straight for Epcot!

Are you sure you have to activate your bands? I would heck with posters on the resorts board that have done split stays. I think you can just do everything at the first resort

Well, the first night at ASMo is room only since we arrive at midnight. Our park tickets and room at OKW start the next day. The CM told me I would have to go to OKW to activate the tickets. Do you think she told me incorrectly? It would be wonderful if I could go straight from ASMo to the park and activate the MBs there! I've never done a split stay before.

I think it's all connected now. I would definitely ask on the resorts board. You may be able to save yourself a bunch of time

Thank you Gracie09! I will do that. It definitely would! This is my stepdaughter's first trip to Disney. She is a teacher so only has Friday, Saturday and Sunday to do the parks. It would help us tremendously if we didn't have to go to OKW first!

When do you arrive?? I would stay at airport Hyatt and take ME in the AM if you want to save some money.

I thought about that but the rooms were $179. ASMo was $90 with ME and they will take my luggage to OKW,

Really think you can get your tickets prior to arriving at OKW. If you check the sticky on tickets at the top of the park strategies board, Cheshire figment as always said you could get your package tickets a couple days early when they issued hard tickets. Can't imagine that would change because of MBs. If you get the info from a reservation CM over the phone, I'd almost guarantee it's wrong.

Thank you so much! I am definitely going to check. It did seem odd to me that if I have my MB on me and my reservation that any place couldnt activate my band for me. Then we would just have to check into OKW when we were done. Thanks everyone for the tips and advice!

If it were me.....I would get up early and get a cab to OKW, with the luggage. If you get to OKW by 8, you should be able to get a bus to Epcot for park opening from OKW. Then you will be checked in, and possibly be able to get into a villa sooner, rather than later.

That also makes sense too! Decisions, decisions! LOL Thank you for the advice. Now to convince my stepdaughter to get up early and become a crazy Disney lady too!

Well, you could always let her sleep while you go to OKW! Meet up at the park...unless she's too young to be left on her own.

No way! LOL I'm going to jump up and down on the bed and make her get up! She is a 20-something! She is so excited to be going for the first time I dont think I will have to convince her too hard!
