I will stay in Disney World Resort and will spend 1 to 2 days to Universal Studio.

I have no driving licence, is there any bus/ coach travel from/ to Disney Resort area (or new the area) and Universal Studio ?

If i want to travel by taxi, how much is the fees ?

Thanks.

You can take Mears transport. A taxi from Downtown Disney will cost you from $30-$35.

You can also take the lynx bus but it takes over an hour.

Silly question - do you just call Mears to arrange this? Previously we have brought travel vouchers from Virgin but we are not going to the Welcome Meeting this time.

Thanks

joemo, when you are at disney, go to the front desk/concierge that is in the lobby. they have this in all the resorts, even the values.

you can have them call for you or give you the number to call mears to set up your ressie with them.

it should be $14 per person for the roundtrip ride to universal from disney.

you are given a confirmation number and a pick up time at your hotel.
the little shuttle mears bus makes the rounds to the hotels for the reserved guests. it might take a bit of time as you don't know what other hotels will have pick up on the date you have chosen.

you will also be given a pickup time from universal for your return to disney.
last year, mears had 2 pick up times for the return from UO to disney.
i believe last pick up time was before UO closed. friends of mine used it.

if you go the mears route, take the earliest time for the morning run.

came back to add that if you use mears, you must set up the transportation in advance. the latest it should be done is the day before you want to use their service for UO

if it were me, i would use a town car service or to make it cheaper use a taxi.

if you use a taxi, be sure to go when it isn't rush hour. during rush hour, you might end up on I-4 longer than necessary due to heavy traffic.

go early before rush hour and return later when you are done with the park at UO and city walk. that way you can make it a cheaper fare.
fares are based on mileage and time.

and the beauty of using car service or taxis is you determine the time you want to spend at UO. you are not held to a schedule that mears has.

if you are going to enjoy another park, you might as well stay there as long or little as you want to. it is worth the extra money then.
