Hi, I am new here, but this seems like the place to ask my question.

If you are planning to stay in a WDW hotel and have no car rental, is there any way to get to Sea World and/or Universal?

Thank you!

Don't worry the moderators will move this over there for you! They are very good at that!

Welcome to the DIS! :wave2:

We took a Mears Shuttle to get there. I don't remember how much it cost; but it worked out very well for us. They have transportation services in the front of the resorts. We prepaid for our service; but there were several that just walked on with us to. Another options would be to take a taxi; though I am guess that would cost more. I am pretty sure there are probably other shuttle services that you could arrange to take, too. Maybe when it gets moved over others will be able to help.

Hi

There are local "Lynx" buses which take in various attractions on their routes (there is a route planner at the "golynx" web site. In the past we have used the free resort transportation to get to, say, the Magic Kingdom (and then the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Centre). From here there was a convenient bus service to International Drive stopping near Sea World. So no real problem without a car (and cheap too).

Cheers

we called the front desk, was provided a phone # and made arrangments,, about 25 bucks 1 way, for 4 or use,,, there are cabs at seaworld, the cabbie told us where to find them

We took a Mears Shuttle from Dixie Landings to Sea World in 2001. It worked out great for us. I believe it was around $14 per person round trip at the time, and all arrangements were made at the resort's Guest Services desk.

It would also depend on how many in your party. I am using Mears this trip because it is just me, but since Mears is $14 per person r/t, if there are 4 of you it would be $56 and for $60 you can get a towncar. There are many towncar services, the one I used last year was www.transporation2disney.com and they were wonderful, we were a party of 11! Also, the FL Tours car service sponsors these boards, you can find their website on these boards. I took Lynx bus once to go to Universal and it took me almost 2 1/2 hours to get there, will never do that again, there were several connections! But I've heard that there is Lynx bus that does go directly to Seaworld and that would be cheapest, you can pick up the Lynx bus at the TTC. A cab would be the most expensive way to go, I think but certainly most convenient since you wouldn't have to make reservations ahead of time. HTH! Good luck and have a wonderful time. :cool1:

I just got back from SSR in May and our family used Florida Tours. The tour company advertised on the DIS Boards. I cannot say enough about them. On time, pleasant and very helpful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. If you click on the link on the dis boards they will provide you with the rates. I think it was $85.00 (roundtrip) to get to Seaworld, but I am not sure. It depends on what type of car you need. I think you can also call a cab. :flower:

Good luck!

We used a town car from Florida Tours to get from WDW to Universal, and back. Round trip cost us $50 plus tip.

I have taken a cab one way from Universal to WDW. Or more specifically, the Carribean Beach resort at WDW. Cost was $34 plus trip. So depending on what WDW resort you're staying at, a town car could be cheaper than a cab.

If you've never used Mears, keep in mind that they may have multiple stops on the way to Universal. So a 10 minute ride in a town car could be longer using Mears. I liked the convenience of being picked up and whisked away quickley! Which I experienced with the town car and cab even though they cost more than Mears.

The Lynx no. 50 from the T&TC drops off just outside SW. Cost is $1.25 per person each way. Hope this helps.

we're planning to rent a car at the car care center on the morning we wish to go to universal and return it to either the ccc or the dolphin hotel (depending on what time it is)... both national and alamo operate from the ccc/dolphin and provide a free shuttle from your disney resort... it really does not get any easier... and a midsize car is about $40/day before codes/coupons (see www.mousesavers.com for codes/coupons/discounts/etc)...

thanks for all the suggestions!

I didn't know if transportation between the two would be really hard, but clearly it isn't!

Thanks!

We just called a cab, it was so painless and easy.
