transportation from caribbean beach to universal

we would like to see wwohp one day during our upcoming disney trip. we are staying at caribbean beach. does anyone know how much a cab would cost to get us from the resort to universal. are there cheaper alternatives? we are a group of 4 adults and 1 infant. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mears operates a shuttle service; if you scan the articles on here the issue has been covered and unfortunately I don't recall the price. With 4-5 of you though, a taxi may be cheaper. Or consider a 1-day car rental rented on property and returned there. Remember that a 1-day rental is 24-hours so you don't have to return the car until the same time the following day.

According to Mears Taxi Fare Estimator - roundtrip will be about $65. That's using Epcot as a pickup point, may be more or less, depending on resort. That's also for 1 cab - I think that will accommodate a maximum of 4 guests.

The 1 day/2 park ticket with transfers that safetymom mentioned is usually the most cost-effective way to go.

We have rented a car and drove and it was cheaper. We rented from National for the day it was about $40 and we paid for the insurance so it came to about $65. We got our tickets in advance from Undercovertourist(on Mousesaver.com) for $83.50 each for the 4 of us. (this is a one park/one day ticket) We went after 4pm so we did not pay for parking at universal.

The Mears special for 4 people would of cost us $473.
The rental car($65) and separate tickets($334) cost us $399.
a savings of $74. (If we paid for parking it would have been less)

My DH is not a patient person if he is ready to go he wants to leave. Mears maybe more convenient depending where they drop and pick you up.
