What are the different options for transporation from the airport to French Quarter? I'm assuming shuttle, taxi's, rent a car... what's the name of some companies that I can look into? Any experiences/suggestions?

Also - on Sunday - we will need to go to church - Mary Queen of the Univerise Catholic. Any advice on the best way to get there/back? I found a shuttle schedule on intercot.com - anyone used it?

Rent a car. Mousesavers will give you some ideas as to how to get the cheapest rates.

I thought Mears dropped the shuttle service to the church leaving taxi as the only alternative to a rental car.

I recommend a Towncar service from the airport. It will cost the same (or less) then a taxi. We have used both TTC and FLTours and had good/great experiences. I would never visit WDW without using a towncar service, unless I rent a car.

Our next trip in December we are using a limo. It is a surprise for my wife. If this is special trip, you may want to consider that also. It is more expensive then the towncar, but it makes quite a statement.

To go to the church, I would just plan on a taxi. Be sure to get a number to call for the return trip, although you may be able to catch one without calling. If I remember correctly, it was about $20 one way (with tip).

The hotel bell captain will be happy to get you a taxi, if there isn't one available.

One word of warning. The church holds a lot of people and leaving after the service can take quite a while. Don't plan a lunch within an hour of the end of the service.

One other thing...The church is very close to a discount, outlet mall. If you are looking for some good shopping deals, it may be worth walking there and then calling a taxi when you are done.

Does anyone know what shopping outlet it is close to? Is it the one called BELZ (I think)? Is it the one with a Disney outlet store?

Belz is near Universal. The one close to the church is Premium Outlets. The store is called Character Premier, it's past the food court.

My parents attended Sunday service at Mary Queen of the Universe. They took a Disney bus to DTD and then took a cab from there to the church. I believe it cost them around $15 with tip. They did have a problem getting a cab back so I would suggest you pre-arrange with the cab company for a pick-up time after the service.
As for the outlet, it is right next to the church. It has a lot of nice stores including Disney and Universal which are both off the food court. If you have trouble gettting a cab at the church you can always pick one up here. I have seen several cabs at the back of the center waiting for fares.

If you are going to spend $40 on a cab to church and however much on a getting to the resort, sounds like you would be better off with rental car. People are getting pretty good rates using several codes and such listed on the thread titled "help single mom get to WDW" or something similar. (Sorry, don't know how to post a link.)
