We will be at the AKL (Jambo). If MK has a 7AM EMH opening during Spring Break what's the easiest way to get to the park by 6:30? We really want to be there for park opening.

We will have a car but will the TTC be running early enough to get there?

Also if we want to try to be the family of the day is arriving by 6:30 early enough?

Thanks!

Buses will be running in plenty of time....at least by 6am. If you want to drive, the TTC should be up and running as well.
As far as being the family of the day goes...who knows. I have been there, for early EMHs, when there was no preshow...no family of the day. You will probably find that you have a lot of company if you arrive at 6:30 for a 7am EMH.

Thanks. I think we are going to take the bus!

You will have no problem getting there on time with a bus.

Also, side note, you probably don't even need to get ON a bus until almost 6:30. The last time I did 7 AM EMH at the MK (Easter weekend 2013) I was one of literally 30 people there for opening. I think I got on a bus at the Swan around 6:30 and was there in plenty of time for the opening show. The 7 AM EMH are totally different than the 8 AM ones. It takes a special person to be at a theme park entrance before 7 AM on vacation!

That's great to hear! I am guessing that means no opening show. Do they pick the family of the day at 8am that week?

If there is an opening show ("Magic Kingdom Welcome") it is only performed for the earliest opening of the day, and not at any later times.

There are multiple versions of the show, one of which is just an audio recording that welcomes guests to MK
( with no performers on the platform at all.)
There are other versions with more hoopla than that, but that have fewer performers and/or characters compared
to the "full-blown" show.

Just because the MK is opening at 7AM, that doesn't necessarily mean that they won't
have a "family of the day" and the full version of "Magic Kingdom Welcome."

What we DO know is that the show will be performed only for the 7AM opening crowd.
You just won't know in advance just which version welcome show will be presented that day.

Probably comparing apples to oranges, but we were at 2 7am openings over Christmas week and there were a ton of people. The entire area in front of where the train pulls up was full on our second visit and people were waiting outside the turnstiles. The first day was a very short version of the welcome show, the second one was longer and had a bunch of character and a family of the day. I'm pretty sure there was no family of the day on the first day.

Anyone know when they might announce the lengthening of the hours, if they plan to do so, for Spring Break weeks this year? We're heading down April 4 - 11 and right now its 9am regular opening/8 am EMH on the schedule every day. We were there last year the week before Easter (which was the more popular week) and there were, I believe, 7 AM EMH openings at least a few of the days (I know we did it twice - Wednesday and Saturday - albeit we got there more like 7:20, 7:30 and not right at rope drop)>

Hours and events tend to be added anywhere from 7-65 days in advance of the actual dates.

Just keep checking.
And, if there are changes, there may ALSO be more as the dates get closer.
