Transportation for 8:00 Character Breakfast in Animal Kingdom

Ten of us have 8:00 Am reservations for the character breakfast in Animal Kingdom. We were told to arrive at Animal Kingdom at 7:30 to be able to get into the park at 7:45. We were also told (by the CM who made the reservations for us) we would not be able to use Disney's transportation that early in the morning and we should get a cab (ten of us...I guess a van). We are staying at Pop Century...My question is...Should we call a cab the night before to be in front of the hotel at 7:15..or wait until that morning to call?

I had this on another board...and was advised to go to the Transportation board...They also said buses begin to run (even to Animal Kingdom) as early as 7:00 am and that taking a taxi would be a bit longer...They said Tyler would know and could advise me!

The busses do run early enough for the first character breakfastes, be at the bus stop at least 45 minutes prior to your PS.

Do not drive to AK. Most days, the CM's at the toll booth (if you can find one) will not let you in until 8am. I experienced this in Dec and others have had this problem as well. We had a PS at Donald's for 8am on an EE day and were not allowed admittance to the parking lot until 8am.

Do not trust anyone at CRO on bus times, Trust anyone who wears Purple Pants (AKA Tyler)

Thank You Cranbiz...I will gather up my group and hit the early bus leaving from Pop Century to Animal Kingdom....!!!

cranbiz is right. We had the 8AM PS and drove. We sat outside the gates for half an hour with two dozen other frustrated folks. What could have been disastrous is that my BIL is diabetic and needs to eat on schedule. We were a good 20 mins late for our PS, but the CMs were great about seating us ASAP.

Enjoy! We love the Breakfastasaurus, and it is always best to go EARLY to that one. The cheesy potatos and crumb cake are favorites, and we have always had wonderful servers there. The characters have been good to us, with or without the kid in our family.

As Tyler frequently tell us here.....NEVER take transportation information from any Cast Member unless they wear purple pants (bus drivers). For some reason Cast Members on the phone or at the front desk have little knowlege of the transportation system.

Oh no...I need your presence at the moment Tyler!!!! A slightly different AKL question tho....if I want to book breakfast at AKL and I'm coming from BCV, will I still be able to get to the lodge for an early seating? What's the best way to do it? I can get there for dinner but an early breakfast is boggling my mind!

Yes, you will be able to get there. AK buses will start running around 7:15am. Just let the driver know you need to get to AKL.

It doesn't matter what resort you are at... the buses will start 45 minutes prior to the first priority seating for that area.
