Will there be expanded bus service to the ESPN Wide World of Sports during January's Marathon Weekend. We will be staying at Saratoga Springs and my daughter will need to check in at ESPN. Does anyone know if there will be direct bus service to ESPN or will she need to make a couple of connecting stops at Pop Century?

Thank you

Leading up to Marathon weekend there will be plenty of information about weekend transportation on the RunDisney webpage and in the program. Yes there will be transportation to/from ESPN and Saratoga Springs.

During race weekend, shuttle buses run between all on-property Disney resorts and EWWS, and to all race events. EWWS service starts the 1st day of the Runners' Expo, and runs any time the Expo is open.

The only exception is that Guests at the MK area resorts take the Monorail to race starts at Epcot.

She's participating in it and she's going to the expo? There's expo transportation, yes.

joelkfla...not sure about how it was or will be for January weekend, but for Princess this year they didn't have the monorail running early enough for the 5 or 10K starts. So disappointing to have to catch a bus from Contemporary for those runs.

I suppose it varies by the size of the race. But if my memory's correct, it's always been up for the big WDW Marathon.

Joelkfla is correct. Monorail staffing is significant lower for the princess than it is for the main WDW Marathon. With fewer staffing it takes more time to complete the opening procedures and checklists.

Monorail was in use for all Princess races in 2015. It's specifically why I booked Bay Lake for 2016. A few WEEKS out they informed us that it would not be up and running for the start of the 5 and 10K. It was a change from the previous year.

I wouldn't be surprised if it changes for other races, too.

I see where ya' comin' from.

Cool.

I was so irritated I didn't even realize that we probably could have taken the monorail BACK after our finishes. Oops.

(and Contemporary (we were staying at Bay Lake but of course transport was from CR) had atrocious, and wrong, signage, to boot)

We did the Star Wars race in April, stayed at CR. No monorail service to any of the races.
