this is a big resort - so when the bus drivers arrives and can't fit everyone on the bus - he calls the dispatcher and gets another bus over there.
so after you first wait 5 to 20 minutes - you shouldn't have to wait much longer.
the MK is the further place away (AK is really but it has lots of buses) - and will take the longest due to the silly route that the MK buses now have to take.....this is a very silly route....

because the back entrance to the MK (over by OKW, FW) is much, much quicker. Not nearly as much traffic and is more of a direct route (okay they have to back track) - but it is definitely faster.

As someone who drives those roads on a daily basis, I can assure you that the fastest and most direct route from Pop Century to the Magic Kingdom is to take a left onto Victory Way, and then a right onto Osceola Pkwy and then another right onto World Drive, and then straight on to the MK.
By going Buena Vista Drive to Bonnet Creek Parkway to Vista Blvd, you're going out of your way, lesser speed limits, bustling traffic on BVD and Bonnet Creek, and 6 extra traffic lights to slow you down.
We had great experiences on the PC bus EXCEPT FOR ONE NIGHT!
We waited TWO HOURS to leave MK after Wishes. We had left as Wishes was wrapping up and near the front of the crowd leaving but still waited nearly 2 hours. The line for PC wrapped all the back up the sidewalk towards MK. It was a nightmere with a 3 year old in my arms.
I can see it now... every bus I board the question will be "Are you Tyler?"
What a bummer you'll be gone from the POP before I arrive. Cast members like you are such a big part of our trip. We already have PS for one place on a certain night because it's the best chance to see our fave server again. I'll be keeping my eyes out for you over Labor Day.
boy I missed that - but the bus driver for OKW told me that WDW was hiring bus drivers again. right now she say that they were on forced overtime - so how do you find the time to post.....
Great to see ya still posting Tyler.. How's the bus route comeing along. Could you let us know about the crowds and weather.. Hopefully everybody is being nice to you over there...
Does the extended evening session actually make money for Disney? At any rate it does spread out the transportation rush back to the resorts.
Friday August 6
Stayed in MK for a little while after Wishes fireworks and normal closing but did not buy the wristband. About half an hour after Wishes ended, about three boatloads of people were waiting for the ferry. Stopped and watched the boats come in and load up. About one hour after WIshes ended the Pop Century area was still crowded but people did not queue back to even the preceding bus berth. Three buses arrived and triple parked and everybody waiting was taken aboard.
Three buses equals about 200 people. I thought there were twice that many in the queue but I guess I was mistaken.
This might not have been a really crowded day, if others have reported two hour waits. I did notice that both MGM and Epcot close at around the same time (10 and 9 respectively) so there may not have been as many buses at MK as one might expect.
I must say The PC has the BEST bus services from any of the resorts I stayed at. Only once did I wait more than 5 mins (I swear..and I was there 7 nights) to or from anywhere. One night going from PC to MK there was a loooooooooong line and a 40 min wait....then 3 busses showed up. But all the other times were GREAT!
As far as being a LARGE resort, not really....To walk around the PC is kiddie play compared to walking any of the parks.
Tyler,
Do Chip and Dale still hitch hike in the front of your bus? I always used to look for them before you went to PC. I guess we'll have to keep an eye open again!!!
