Which deluxe resort has the best transportation, within the parks? I'm trying to decide between AKL, Poly, WL, or Contemp. Thanks!:)

Every resort has its good and not so good. Best are actually the Epcot resorts, BW, YC/BC, Swan/Dolphin, simply because you can walk to two different parks from them, Epcot and MGM (you can also boat to either); but then they bus and partially share busses to MK and AK which is OK but not great. Likewise Cont and Poly have easy access to MK by monorail (can also walk to from Cont) and to monorail that goes to Epcot and monorail tends to be quick trip. But then they bus to other two parks and share with other resort or otherwise make stop which is OK but not great. The Epcot and MK monorail resorts are considered best for location. AKL has bus to all parks--good to all but still longer than if you could just walk (like at the Epcot resorts) or take monorail (like at MK resorts). WL has boat to MK (about 15 to 20 minutes) and bus everyhwere else (and shares with other resorts to MGM and AK), bus transpotation is OK, but of the resorts you mention it is probably the weakest link in overall transportation. Note, for going to places other than theme parks, like waterparks, downtown disney, or another resort (that is not within walking or monorail distance), most of the resorts are comparable and the transportation is generally mediocre and particularly bad for going to another resort.

I really liked the transportation system at the Poly. Go to the second floor of the Grand Ceremonial House and take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Walk 5 minutes to the TTC and take a monorail to Epcot. There were buses to MGM, Animal Kingdom, and Blizzard Beach which we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for. The bus to MGM stopped at the Wilderness Lodge first then the Poly then the Grand Floridian. It was great to be on the monorail if you wanted to eat at the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian. It took us just minutes to get to Chef Mickeys.

I would have to say the epcot resrts.....because they have the walk ways to Epcot and MGM or the boats....it is a few minutes either way you go!! the MK resorts have good tranportion to MK...but to long for me to everywhere else!! the Epcot resorts you can do the monorail to MK also....and it is in the middle of everything!!!and the buses seem to be the best from these resorts!

What theme parks are my principal objectives?

One size does not fit all when discussing the transportation system and the resorts, even a deluxe resort.

If Epcot and MGM are the principal draws, stay near them at the Boardwalk or the Y&BC.

If MK is the principal draw, stay at Poly or Contemporary.

If you are an AK fanatic, stay at AKL.

Also, don't forget that Disney will move you from one resort to another if you split the trip. (But I hate packing and unpacking!!!)

Thanks, you have all brought up points that I hadn't thought about. We want to try to go to all of the parks, but Epcot is our favorite! It would be fun to stay at a monorail resort too, though. I bet the boat ride from WL is relaxing. Certainly are a lot of factors to consider! :)
