Transportation Advice - HS to MK

Nothing beats WDW fun!

I am doing a DHS day (until 12:30 pm) and going to MK. I fully plan on utilizing the Express Bus service (despite the steep increase in price).

Yes, it is expensive (especially the more people you have), but you have to factor in the time savings you are getting for that price.
How much will an Uber cost (I really don't know) .. and doesn't the driver have to pay for parking to get INTO the Hollywood Studios parking lot? Doesn't that increase the cost?

Other options are:
normal buses, drive your own car, or take an Uber.

All of these options involve:
1 - Walking out of the park and to the bus stop (or parking lot (which will take longer).
2- Riding/driving to MK (easily a 15+ minute drive usually, right?)
3 - Get to the front gates of MK (monorail, walk) (taking the resort-to-resort bus is the quickest)
4 - Go through security (mid-day .. probably won't take long)
5 - Walk up main street to the hub.
6 - Walk to a land to find your first attraction.

Adding up the time for all these options are probably at least 60 minutes. Indications are the express bus is 30 minutes from walk on/walk off (though WAITING for the bus could be factored in your time).

So I figure the TIME savings (of skipping security and getting dropped off by Buzz Lightyear) is worth the cost of $19/person (especially since there are four of us including an infant and toddler and a double stroller . I'd rather not go through security again OR worry about walking/pushing them any more than I have to).

I gather that taking the Express bus will save me AT LEAST 30-60 minutes. We get off the bus and can walk into any number of attractions almost immediately.

When you are trying to maximize your time in several parks (by hopping) .. why waste time walking/riding/security, to me that is the beauty of this new Express service.

I'll minimize that cost by simply packing our lunch that day, or eating at QS instead of TS for dinner or buying a few less souvenirs then we intended.

I look at it like getting my oil changed in my car ... SURE .. I could do it myself for a fraction of the cost, but between having to spend time buying the stuff to do that, and spending time to do the change (and clean up afterwards) .. paying the cost for a quick lube place to do it in just a few minutes is totally worth it.

Nothing beats WDW fun!

We've always come back exhausted from running to parks and staying all day/night, waking up to repeat. I promised DH pool days every other day this go around, we'll see. LOL.

Thanks everyone... one more bus Question (for the normal free busses) do they post a schedule of when busses arrive to leave to other parks or do you just have to show up when you're ready to go and wait till the next one gets there?

Show up and wait! The resorts now have electronic message boards that tell you when the next bus "should" arrive, but they're not always as accurate as we'd wish.
