We are trying to book a timeshare resort in August. My family will be staying for 2 weeks and joined by one of my daughters friends during the middle of our stay. She will be flying into Orlando alone. What is the best way to get her transported to our resort? We could pick her up in a central location in the Disney area if this is easier and cheaper? What are some good companies for me to contact? Is there a way for her to pay a fee and ride with the Disney bus, we could pick her up at one of the resorts?
thanks

There is a thread at the top of this board with transportation options and their associated costs.

When you say you are renting a "timeshare resort", I am assuming you are staying off-site, but are spending the time in Disney and trying to find a way to get her to Disney while you are there.

If you are staying on-site, at a DVC resort, then if she is listed on your ressie, then she is entitled to one trip, each way, on ME.

I wish I could be more helpful; I cannot figure out if you are staying on-site or off-site.

Will you have a rental car? If so, couldn't you pick her up? She cannot take DME if she's not staying at a Disney Resort. If you can't pick her up she can take a cab, car service, or public transit to the nearest bus stop.

we will be driving down from NH so we will have a car. Instead of tying
everyone up for two days I'm exploring the possibility of having her brought to the Disney area.

We do this often as we have members of our group come in at different times due to work schedules. Sorry, no way around it -- we always drive to the airport and pick them up. It takes 30 minutes up and 30 minutes back and the pick up area is very easy...just know which side of the airport you need to pick up on. We never hold up our group when picking someone up. The new folks just catch up with us later. Of course you can always do a cab, but that's not cheap. You can't use the DME since you don't have a Disney resort reservation, which is required. Not sure what the comment "tying everyone up for two days" refers to. The pick up at MCO (or drop off) is very easy and doesn't really take a lot of time.

She could take the Mears bus to say, SSR. It would cost her about $19 one way. She can not take the free DME bus, but she can pay the fare to Mears and very likely be put on the DME bus.
Choose a resort that is close to where you want to pick her up from, and have her book a ride to that resort. BUT.....she would have to book it when she arrives at MCO. You can not book Mears to a WDW resort in advance. If you wanted to, you could book a ride to the S/D in advance..that is not considered a WDW resort.

I would be inclined to just get a cab to take her to wherever you will be at the time. It will cost a few dollars more, but it is simpler and won't require any coordination. Only you know if the extra money will be worth it to you, but it would be worth it to me.
