Hi! I'm planning on camping about 2 weeks at Fort Wilderness and would like to book asap. Now I was thinking about visiting Discovery Cove (with the dolfin swim) 1 day and SeaWorld 1 or 2 days. Should I stay in a hotel near SeaWorld the first 3 nights? If so, does Mears go there as well from the airport? How do I go from that hotel (don't know which one yet) to Fort Wilderness?

As a last question: does Mears offer a day trip to SeaWorld from a Disneyhotel and how much do they charge?

Thanks for your help.

Also, do you recommend a cheap hotel nearby? Is there any close enough so I can go by foot to SeaWorld and Discovery Cove? Should I trust on their 'free shuttle service'?

European, we are in a similar situation, except we are going from the Poly to SW. Usually, when we go, we rely on a Mears taxi. It will typically run you about $30 one way. It gets expensive. We are looking at alternatives this year. We are going to try the I-trolley which apparently departs from the Transportation Center. Here is a link for more info..

You are looking for the Lynx bus #50 which goes from the Ticket and Transportation Center to Sea World. www.golynx.com. The I-Trolley runs up and down International Drive www.iridetrolley.com You can switch from the Lynx bus to the trolley if you want at the Sea World bus stop. The trolley and the bus use the same stops along International Drive. Taking the bus to Sea World is very easy and much cheaper than any other form of transportation.

Mears transportation does offer roundtrip transportation from your WDW resort to Seaworld. The price is 16pp roundtrip roughly payable to the driver.

One word of warning though, I have had 2 seperate clients booked with mears for this with an 8:30am scheduled departure. At about 8:20am an unmarked van comes pulling up (screeching up according to one of my clients)and says to those waiting "seaworld". My clients, both expecting transportation pay the driver and get into the van. They are taken to Seaworld, and dropped off by the tour bus area. They are picked up in same area as well. HOWEVER, this is NOT Mears transportation. All of the Mears transports have there name on the side of the Van, and they also pull you right up to the entrance at Seaworld versus the tour bus area.

My client that realized what had happened, spoke with the Mears bus drivers and Mears dispatch regarding the situation and were told that yes, these vans were operated by a different company and they were aware of the situation. That they always came about 10 minutes early, and were always in a hurry to get out of there before the REAL Mears vans appeared. :scared1:

My clients did arrive safely, and the unnamed company was there to pick them up (they thought forsure they had lost money for the return) but it's still a scary situation.

So word of warning, if choosing Mears, or any other company, make sure that you go on the Marked Vans and know who you really are traveling with!

We used the Mears shuttle transportation last year. You may be right about the price- I think it was around $16pp round trip. Essentially a Mears shuttle van picked us up, with a van full of people who were going to Universal. One thing to note, at the end of the evening (we had to call Mears at least 1/2 hour of wanting to be picked up) we waited over an hour in Sea World (after closing) and finally the coach motor coach pulled up to pick us up. It was full of people coming back from UO/IoA and CityWalk. Our stop at the Poly was the last one on the loop. It was a very long to a long day. I'm not certain I would take the Mears back, considering that ride to get home took us over an hour and made us tight for time on our ADR that evening.
