Transitioning hotels during marathon weekend--how easy is it??

We are staying at the AS Movies on Friday the 7th..we have a 7am PS at Chef Mickey's on Saturday the 8th and DDs are running the kiddie races at 8:45am (we plan on being first in line at Mickey's and will have the van to transport the girls expeditiously to their racing area). Then we are doing EPCOT for the day followed by my Team in Training Pasta dinner in the evening. I will hop on my team bus back to POFQ to go to sleep for my 2am wakeup call on Sunday a.m.

So my question--

Has anyone ever done luggage transfer from a value to a moderate--how painful or painless is transition. I know that I must physically check-in at POFQ to get my room key. Looking for quick and EASY (hubby really wants to stay in the Fantasia Rooms and we have it booked). How can I make my transition easy???

If it were up to me I would ditch CMs--but Grandma is insistent on a character breakfast with the family--and CMs was the one with the earliest seating time. I tried to have her go on Sunday while I'm running--but that won't work for her

The Disney luggage service folks will move your bags for you, though you still need to pack them. Then you simply leave your first room and go off for your day's activities, and return to check in at the second resort when you're ready. After you get your new room, luggage service will deliver your bags. Pretty painless overall.
I saw that you say you "booked" a Fantasia room. Note that those requests are noted, but officially they are not guaranteed.

We paid for preferred room which is the Fantasia buildings--they said that was all they had available for discounted rates...so if we pay for preferred and don't get preferred (especially if it is only Fantasia that is preferred)--I will have one upset hubby!

Are there other preferred rooms that I do not know about?

I think you are cutting it very close with the races and your breakfast. Do you really plan on having the kids run with a full stomach?

Even if you can get seated right at 7AM, you are still going to have to get your car and drive over to Epcot. There is a good chance that traffic may slow you down as well. Plus you have a good little hike over to the race area from where you park your car.
