Transferring Resorts?

We are staying at POP the first night and then will transfer to POR for the rest of our vacation. Our package (tx, meals) is part of the POR stay. We've never changed resorts during a stay before. The CM who helped me book the additional night at POP said that a bus would transer us. How does this work? How long should I anticipate it will take? Any tips to help the transfer run quicker or more smoothly? We will be anxious to get to POR, get our tix and get to the parks!

Man, I hate it when CM's give out incorrect info!!! I don't know of any 'bus' that will take you, and your luggage, to your next resort. And I've switched resorts several times. It's really easy to make the switch. You have a couple of options...you can have a cab called and they can take you, and your luggage, to POR first thing in the morning. Then, you can checkin and get started on your fun. Or...you can hand your bags to the luggage people at POP, they will get it over to POR. Then, you can take a bus to a park and transfer to the POR bus. Be aware though..if you have POP transfer your bags, it will take the better part of the day to get your bags at POR.
I would use a cab. I've done the bus thing before, but I already had my park passes. Since you seem to have to checkin at POR before getting park passes, you may find it easier to just get a cab..it would cost about $10-15 but it will be faster, and you will have your bags with you right from the start.

Thanks for the info. That's a bummer. The CM even told me the bus would be air conditioned!! I'm under the impression that we have to check in at POR to get our park tickets. Do you know if it would be possible to get the tickets at the park instead? We have a MYW w/ dining package.

Nope, the passes are going to be tied to your room reservation. So, you'll have to check in before getting them. I just can't imagine why someone would tell you there is a bus that would move you to the next resort. Boggles my mind. I do it frequently and not one time has anyone ever mentioned an airconditioned bus!! I'm doing it again in Jan..POP to BWV..we'll see if they put me on a bus.
As I said before, just have them call you a cab, pay the $10 or so, and get to POR first thing in the morning...around 8ish. Then you can checkin, maybe even get into your room, and then head to the parks.

I used to think no, you had to wait for check in but I recently read a thread with different info from a CM on the theme parks board. It mentioned that the CM's at guest relations at the parks can give you your tickets prior to check in even with a package. If so you could get your tickets early and head to the parks rather than POR if you choose.

I think the poster with the great ticket info is cheshire figment, I suggest posting this question over on the theme parks board for more information.
