Transferring points...how does this work?

I have 50 banked points, 50 left for this year and 250 that I can borrow. Since I am not planning on going to WDW this year, I was thinking of renting the points. I had a request from someone who wants to make a HH reservation for Christmas (is thinking of renting the points). Total points is 106....Can I transfer 106 or just the 100 that I have available?

Could we do an even exchange....She gives me 106 at her home resort, I give her 106 at HH? If so, is she able to make HH at the 11 month window?

Since, I really don't care about the home resort, this seems like a good plan all around. I will probably try to rent out atleast 100 anyway.

If this is a possibility, am I able to bank the transferred points or is that not allowed?

Now, I actually haven't made any type of plan with this person, I was just thinking if this was me, I wouldn't want to pay for a reservation when I have the points available just not at the 11 month window.

Thanks to all for sharing the knowledge. I never actually thought we would ever skip WDW for a year....DS is 7 and had been there 8 times....It is time for a change!!

You are not allowed to transfer points that are banked or borrowed. You can only transfer current year points.

The recipient of transferred points can bank them. You can only borrow points to make a reservation, but AFAIK, you can borrow transferred points.

You may either transfer points into your account or transfer points out of your account. You can't do both in the same use year (so you can't really "trade" points).

Transferred points are supposed to retain their home resort, so if you transferred your HH points, the recipient could use them at the 11 month window to make a HH reservation and at 7 months to make a reservation at any other DVC resort.
