Going on a big family vacation 10/27-11/1. It's a trip of firsts: my family's first stay at Polynesian; our first trip with my cousins and aunt; our first trip with two little ones (2, 4); our largest trip (8 adults, 2 kids); and our first time going for Halloween. It's my cousin's first trip.
We've made it all about my two little cousins. We go so often and will be returning Christmas week, so we're okay skipping our normal favorites in favor of some kiddie rides.
My first question: we're checking in 10/27, but my cousins will be arriving on 10/28. I booked my family's FP+ this morning. Should I just try and transfer over the FP+'s tomorrow when my cousin's window opens up (we're already linked)? Would I have more success just booking them and finding the closest time or overlapping window? We do have a few FP+s for bigger rides (ToT, Thunder Mountain), but most of our FP+s are for Pooh, Peter Pan, etc.
How does our schedule look? I sat down with my cousin yesterday. She's fairly confident this schedule will work. I warned her that the kids can be tired upon arriving (as some posters pointed out on here a few months ago) but she thinks we'll be good to go.
10/27: My family arrives late to Poly. Head right to bed.
10/28:
- Wake up early and tour the resort/grab photos for my blog
- Breakfast at Capt. Cooks
- Hang by pool
- Cousins arrive by 12pm/check-in
~1pm: Head to Magic Kingdom
1:20pm-2:20pm: Meet Mickey at Town Square (thought this would be a nice welcome for the kids)
- Photos at Castle and on Main Street
2:35pm-3:35pm: Buzz Lightyear FP+
3:50pm-4:50pm: Peter Pan's Flight
- Back to Poly
5:10pm: Dinner at 'Ohana
- Relax and digest
- If we're feeling up to it, we'll go to EPCOT that night for a few drinks/Illuminations
10/29:
- Get to MK for the opening show (breaks my heart it's not at the train station anymore)
- Head right to Tomorrowland for Space Mountain Standby (Adults—depending if the rope drop changes to 8am)
9:15am: Breakfast at Be Our Guest
10amish: My little cousin has an appointment at BBB
11:05am-12:05pm: 7DMT FP+
12:40pm-1:40pm: Peter Pan FP+
1:55pm-2:55pm: BTMRR FP+ (adults)
- Head back to Poly to wash up
- Head to EPCOT
5:10pm: Dinner at Teppan Edo
- Show off the Boardwalk area; get Ample Hills (my cousins LOVE it here in NY)
- Illuminations if we missed it or hop to DHS for Fantasmic
10/30:
- Poly to MK; Grab bus to Beach Club (is there an easier way to do this—maybe a Minnie Van?)
9:15am: Breakfast at Cape May

11/1:

- Head to AK
11:50am-12:50pm: Expedition Everest FP+
12:50pm-1:50pm: Avatar FP+
2:25pm-3:25pm: Safari
--We check out that night; I booked the cousins for California Grill at 7:15pm to see the fireworks.
- I need to find a time to work in HEA
- We'll do the 3:30 (or is it 3pm now?) parade either 10/28 or 10/29
- What else are we missing? I need to look into the princess meets a bit more.
I'm not sure my cousins really know what to expect. My cousin's husband was a little taken back by the amount of planning required (I broke out the excel spreadsheets) but I assured him that I'd plan the most efficient trip for him. He replied "whatever makes the kids happy." He gets it, but I don't think they realize that they're gonna need a vacation after this vacation.
