Transferring luggage from Old Key West

I understand that OKW is more like a condo complex instead of a large hotel. We would like to have the luggage transferred to WL, but want to leave for the park very early. Will they come get it right away when you call?

Or do you have to take the luggage to the main area?

Or do you leave it in the room and go to the park and they come get it when they get a chance?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Jeast, there's a button for Bell Services on the room phone. Simply call down to Bell Services and they'll schedule a time for a bellman to come get your luggage. It's prefered that you're in your room when your luggage is picked up - that way you can extend gratuity to your bellman. Then your luggage is stored into the luggage room until it is transferred to WL. Go enjoy your day. Then, when you get to WL, call their bell services and your luggage will be brought up to your WL room. It's fairly seamless - no worries!

We had our luggage tranferred from OKW to AKL in 2005 no trouble at all. We called in the morning and they came pretty quickly and we were off to the AKL to check in nd then off to AK. Called bell service when we got back from park and they brought bags right up.

Thanks for the info. I was worried that the setup would hold up our plans that morning. I actually considered dragging our own luggage around. Silly me!

This is what we did last summer. We transferred from OKW to VWL. Make sure to call, like the OP said, bc/ we were told they would go ahead and send it to our room. Our luggage didn't show until almost midnight! It wasn't a big deal, though, seeing how we had closed down MK that night. It's a very simple process, though, and Bell Services couldn't have been kinder.

Ok, so if that is the case and I do not know what room I'll be in at OKW, do I just tell them my name the OKW reservation is under?

Yes they will! They'll tag your luggage at Pop with your name. When you get into your room at OKW, simply call Bell Service and they'll deliver the luggage right to your room.
