Transferring between resorts during a split stay

Anyone have tips for this? When we were on the bus lugging our bags on our first split trip, someone told us that DVC will actually transport members and/or luggage between resorts on split stays. Is this true? Does anyone have any tips as to how to streamline this? We're a party of seven, four adults, two toddlers (2.5 yrs) and one infant (6 mo) so I'd like to have as much prepped and in place as possible. We'll be going from BLT to OKW, and we'll have groceries, luggage, and an Owners Locker.

Bell Services will transfer your luggage and any groceries between resorts. Luggage is not permitted on Disney transportation (buses, boats, monorail, etc).

On your check-out day at the first resort, you can either drop of your items at the Bell Stand or have a porter come to your room (must be present) to get them.

They typically only transfer luggage once during the day at around 2 pm. Your items will not be available at the new resort until closer to 4 pm, so you should keep any items you need during the day with you.

At the new resort, you can either retrieve your stuff from the bell stand or have a porter deliver them to your room (must be present).

You will have to get yourself and the rest of your group to the new resort by using regular Disney transportation, personal vehicle or taxi.
