Transferred points

Can anyone tell me how this process works? I have a thread posted on the rent/trade board about my brother renting points. But technically, couldn't I try to get points transferred to us since we're DVC owners and then I could make the reseration for my brother and he could just pay us? Does that make sense? Sorry for sounding dumb but I am clueless about how this works.

The rest of the family is staying at VWL in Sept and he and his family want to join us there. I'm hoping I can help make this happen for them.

I have transferred points to other DVC members. It is rather easy. I called MS with my member and the other DVC member membership number!! Told them what I wanted transferred and then had to fax them a signed copy of the transfer!! It was simple and MS walked me through it.

Once you transfer, they told me there is no getting the points back.

How does it normally work payment-wise? I mean, I'm sure the person needs to get payment FIRST, does anyone ever feel nervous that they may lose their money and the person won't follow through?

If they take it ask them to send to an invoice from PayPAl this way you can pay with CC and have some protection if points aren't posted on your account. It's also easy to do a three way call to MS to get this done from what I was tild when I was looking for some points I just borrowed instead and will do a entire trip transfer when needed.
