transfering of pts?

Bare with me as we are new to all this. We are trying to figure out if you buy pts from someone and they are placed in your account from Mar. Does that means that those pts that you bought from that person expire on the month of their expiration date or would it transfer over to our expiration date?

Let me add to what I said, points are supposed to keep original resort and use year but have read that some people have transferred points and it changed to their use year and or resort. Mistake by MS when transfer done. Too much stuff for them to keep track of I guess, and slips thru cracks when transfer is finished.

Actually per the POS points are suppose to retain their original resort and use year month. However, the computer system won't handle that. If someone has only an OKW home resort, and someone else transfers them BWV points, there's no account to assign them to, so generally they are assigned to the new owner's account, which in this case would be OKW.

MS can and does make a manual notation stating that of thoses OKW points, in this example, that so many of them are actually BWV points. Thus if someone wants to use those points at the 8-11 month window, MS reads the notation and then overrides the system to allow those points (which the computer thinks are OKW points) to be used to make that BWV home resort reservation.

This is how I understand it works. So it's not a mistake but they have to change the points to a home resort that the person receiving the points owns at, regardless of the home resort of origin. The mistake, if they make one, is not to make a manual notation as to the original classification of those points.
