My DD just got a Macbook pro, and she cant figure out how to transfer all of her 4000 songs from her ipod to the Mac. It keeps telling her the software is configured for windows.

TIA!!

Did you previously sync it with a windows PC? If you did, the mac needs to "restore" it to convert it to a mac based ipod. The only way I know to get the songs onto the mac is to either use an external drive and copy then onto the mac, or use the ipod as a thumb drive, which you can do. You can't move songs from an ipod directly to a computer without using an thumb or external drive. Otherwise it would be too easy for friends to share stuff, lowering Apples bottom line.

SENUTI it's a program that will take all the stuff from your ipod and put it on your computer, it's what I used when I got my Mac. It's just itunes spelled backwards and yes it works.
