Transfered points?

Yes, as long as they were eligible for banking by the original owner. Note: some CMs at MS are confused about this (I had this happen), so don't be afraid to call back if necessary.

thanks jekjones.
another question - can you transfer points from one contract to another contract inside the same membership #?

I have lots of contracts within the same membership # and I don't have to transfer--I can use them combined in any way I wish. I do have different resorts but all the same use year. I like this scenario because I don't need to worry about the 1 transfer/year rule. I will leave it to someone else to post who has experience with contracts with different use years.

another question - can you transfer points from one contract to another contract inside the same membership #?
It depends.

If you have a Master and an add on contract, there is no need to transfer. MS can easily combine points at 7 months if necessary. If you have a Master and add on contract(s), they will be numbered the same with the add on contracts having suffixes to the main number. For example, your Master might be numbered as contract 123456. Add on contracts will be numbered 123456.001, 123456.002, etc.

If you have totally separate contracts (which will not be numbered like the example above), you may have to transfer points between contracts if you want to use points from both to book a single night. Points from separate contracts (even if owned by the same person) cannot be combined without doing a transfer. Each contract is allowed one transfer per use year, either into or out, but not both.

Transferring points between contracts does not change the use year or resort of the points. So if for example, you want to make a reservation at VWL during the 11 month window and need 10 more points, you can't transfer in 10 from a SSR contract to do it. Those points won't be good at VWL until the 7 month window opens.
